Opalescence is the new album from the most unusual trio of Norbert Rodenkirchen, Robbie Lee, and James Ilgenfritz. The setting for the initial sessions: hushed microtones bouncing off reverberant marble walls while a blizzard raged outside. Their backgrounds: an unconventional mix of medieval music, modern composition, various folk traditions, and, of course, jazz. And the result: an unclassifiable amalgam of improvised forms, weaving together far-flung genres, gratifyingly challenging yet easy to enjoy. The album is framed with a series of solo composition by Rodenkirchen, with echoes of his solo work on Hameln Anno 1284 and Tibia Ex Tempore. Ilgenfritz begins the track Mille Regretz with an extended solo bass exploration of arco harmonics, before medieval fragments enter the drone like a dream. Tones of modern and early composers begin to merge (Scelsi, Grisey, Josquin, Machaut). But the sounds also have levity and wit. The pastoral folk of Society of the First Snowfall gives way to an exploratory energy that wouldn't be out of place on an Art Ensemble of Chicago Record. When Lee's renaissance clarinet joins his sopranino saxophone at the end, the spirit of Roland Kirk's double-horn dances with it's most ancient precedent, perhaps channeling the ancient Greek double-wind aulos. The instruments used during these sessions deserve mention in their own right: flutes both pre-modern and postmodern, from medieval to quarter tone. The gentle giant that is the contrabass recorder, looking more like a Bauhaus tower than a renaissance sound-anchor. An assortment of other quirky winds, from the wooden piccolo to the glissando sliding headjoint flute. Opalescence is a creative sound experience not quite like any other. It invites deeper, repeated listening, disclosing new pleasures and new sonic possibilities.Side A:1 Phosphorescence2 Triage3 Society of the First Snowfall4 Mille RegretzSide B:1 Eiszeit2 Incandescence3 The Invention Of Dreaming4 Spectral Corridors5 Fluorescence6 Clair Obscure7 Vanishing Lpoint

Unsafe Buckle - Risky for tiny fingers
Special Size Type: Toddler (1-4 Years), Size: 12-18 Months Toddler, Color: Stuart Navy Canvas
I at first really liked these sandals, however once my son started learning how to undo the Velcro strap, his fingers began to catch painfully in the decorative buckle. Now I see the sandals as an unsafe option and have subsequently tossed them.

Cute but a little stiff
These are cute and well made. I think the sole is a little too stiff for babies learning how to walk that are used to bare feet. The back of the sandal also slips down sometimes. Overall a decent purchase if you just need something for looks more than function.

Amazing first shoes
Special Size Type: Toddler (1-4 Years), Size: 18-24 Months Toddler, Color: Matthew Navy
These are a fantastic in between option for after moccs and before hard sole shoes. Research shows that barefoot is best for foot development, but living in AZ the ground is way too hot for Moccs in the summer. These are a great compromise since we don’t want to use hard soles for as long as possible. Love this brand and these sandals are so cute!

Cute and Comfy
Special Size Type: Infant (0-12 Months), Size: 6-9 Months Infant, Color: Matthew Navy
My infant wore these for a few months, he’s 9 months now and they are too snug for 6-12 months size. We really liked the comfort and quality.
