這本書中總共有10隻可愛的貓咪登場，親子共讀的同時，可以和孩子一邊指認一一登場的貓咪，一邊練習數數，在不知不覺間建立孩子對數字的敏感度，並且學習「10的補數」、「數的合成與分解（加法與減法）」等數學概念，啟蒙孩子的數字認知，訓練數學邏輯思考能力。
除此之外，藉由貓咪探險隊出發去尋寶的繽紛場景，在說故事的時候，可以透過「哪一隻貓不見了？」、「是你的話會怎麼做？」這樣的互動問答，引導孩子觀察作者筆下的各種貓咪姿態、顏色分明的季節感、豐富的地形特徵，讓書本成為訓練孩子表達意見的良好媒介，同時也激發出小小腦袋裡的思考力和想像力。
