It's hard to speak about unspeakable things - violence, abuse, addiction and abandonment; especially when these things rupture the innocence of childhood. But one of the merits of Luke Jenner's new solo project is that he not only speaks of these things but he does so in a way that wrests them from the dark, small cubicle of shame, placing them firmly in the light so that we, as listeners and fellow survivors, can start to maybe walk with our head high. In this moment of empty pop music séance, the scope and ends of this project - to try and help people - feels almost revelatory. Revelatory is the right word here in that it carries with it, of course, the sense of religious or spiritual insight. As front man for the legendary post Punk NYC band, The Rapture (a band name that already attests to Jenner's abiding faith and interest in the force of spiritual reckoning), Jenner has never shied away from his belief in God, community, family - all as a means of recovering the fractured x of y. Getting There
Format: Kindle
The let’s take Stark’s company plot is getting old, but at least this time they’re showing that Tony Stark ‘s major asset is his intellect. Still leaning too much into the Stark is an alcoholic canon, which even the writers of that arc admit was a mistake that they hadn’t thought out fully; a mistake that sucked the fun out of Invincible Iron Man for decades until Robert Downey Jr portrayed the character on the big screen, and writers on the comic started to write Stark to resemble the character as originally written.
I do not like the art design on Tony Stark on this run at all. The feeble Howard Hughes look doesn’t fit Tony Stark at all, but if the story gets better, I can live with it. The art will change with the next team anyway. Ackerman seems to at least like Tony Stark and he seems to understand him; two things that were definitely not the case with Cantwell. Issue one didn’t put me off, and I’m invested enough to continue and see where it goes. At this stage with many Marvel titles that’s saying a lot.

Good, angry, start
Format: Kindle
After working at a manufacturing plant, I definitely appreciated Stark looking out for his workers. I will say the hostile takeover storyline feels a little over done for Iron man. Hope there are twists to come.

so far is filled with gaps. The artwork was ok. Hopefully the next issue will make the story

Awful

I only read the sample, but the writing was so bad and the dialogue so cringey that I couldn't go any further. Just seems to be another failed Iron Man series in a long line of failed series. At this point I can't even remember the last time we had a good Iron Man comic book.
