This Juniper compatible QFX-QSFP-40GE-SR4 transceiver from ENET is engineered to deliver reliable, high-performance 40G networking with a cost-efficient, OEM-compatible footprint. Functionally identical to the original OEM part, it provides a seamless plug-and-play replacement for Juniper QFX-series switches, delivering the same data rates, wavelengths, and fiber compatibility at a fraction of the price. TAA compliant and backed by a guarantee of compatibility, this transceiver is an ideal upgrade or spare for data centers, enterprise networks, and high-bandwidth campus deployments that demand robust, field-proven optics without sacrificing quality or functionality.

  • 40GBASE-SR4 QSFP+ transceiver with four parallel 850 nm VCSEL channels for high-density, multi-lane data transmission over multimode fiber. This enables 40 gigabits per second of aggregate throughput using four separate 10 Gbps lanes, delivering exceptional performance for east-west and north-south traffic in modern data centers.
  • MPO/MTP connector supports high-density fiber connectivity, simplifying cabling in crowded data-center racks and enabling faster deployment with fewer bulky connections. The MPO/MTP interface is designed for efficient aggregation of four 10G lanes into a single QSFP+ package.
  • OEM-compatible, ENET guaranteed optics offer a cost-effective, 100% guaranteed compatible solution compared to OEM products. ENET’s compatibility guarantee provides the confidence you need when refreshing or expanding a Juniper QFX deployment, while preserving performance, features, and reliability.
  • TAA compliant optical transceivers are sourced and manufactured to meet Trade Agreement Act requirements, making them suitable for use in compliant government and enterprise environments without compliance concerns.
  • Broad device compatibility with Juniper QFX switches and other vendor ecosystems seeking a reliable SR4 solution. This transceiver is engineered to function in real-world network conditions, supporting typical deployment scenarios—from campus backbones to data-center-leaf architectures—without the need for extensive reconfiguration.

How to Install Juniper Compatible QFX-QSFP-40GE-SR4

Installing this transceiver in a compatible Juniper QFX switch or other SR4-capable device is designed to be straightforward and user-friendly. Follow these steps to ensure a successful deployment and optimum performance:

1) Power down or prepare for hot-swapping according to your equipment policy. In many data-center environments, hot-swapping is supported, but always verify your device’s guidelines before removal or insertion.

2) Identify the appropriate QSFP+ slot on your Juniper QFX switch. Confirm that the port type and speed settings align with 40GBASE-SR4 requirements.

3) Remove the existing transceiver blank or existing module carefully, ensuring no damage to the slot or surrounding components.

4) Align the ENET QFX-QSFP-40GE-SR4 module with the slot’s keying and gently insert until it seats securely. A definitive click usually indicates proper engagement.

5) Reconnect any necessary fiber harnesses, ensuring the MPO/MTP connector is clean and properly mated. Avoid force or misalignment, which can cause fiber damage or degraded performance.

6) Reapply power (or resume normal operation if hot-swapping). Check the device’s status LEDs to confirm module recognition and link establishment. Install any required device-specific drivers or firmware updates if prompted by your switch, and verify a stable 40G link on the port.

7) Run a basic connectivity test, validating throughput and error rates across the 40G link. If available, leverage digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM/DOM) features to monitor optical performance over time and address potential deviations proactively.

8) Maintain fiber health by using appropriate cleaning procedures for MPO/MTP connectors and ensuring fiber end faces are free of dust, scratches, or contamination. Regular maintenance helps sustain optimal link budget and reduces the risk of transmission errors.

9) Document the installation for internal change management, including port assignment, cable routing, and any performance observations. This documentation supports future deployments, upgrades, or troubleshooting.

10) If you encounter compatibility concerns, verify that you are using a genuine ENET-compatible module designed to be functionally identical to OEM parts and ensure the device firmware and port settings align with SR4 specifications. In most cases, compatibility and performance will match OEM behavior, delivering dependable 40G scalability in your network.

Make sure you use a quality power supply
Works well but make sure you use a quality power supply. I've only had this for a couple weeks. At first I was having some weird problems with it randomly disconnecting. I didn't exactly blame the dock because that laptop has had problems with other USB devices. But the way it was disconnecting made me think maybe it was a power issue. I was using a 65w Dell charger which should have been sufficient. When I traded it out for a 65w Lenovo charger, the problems went away for the most part. Power requirements will vary based on the equaiment you have plugged in so I can't really blame the dock for this. I should be using more than 65 watts, at least 10 watts higher, but I don't have a more powerful adapter lying around. If you're having problems, this is worth considering.

Great solution for 1 USB C laptop
Works well for my laptop with only one USB C port that I wanted to have an external monitor and a monitor extender. Having two HDMI ports was the perfect solution to now have 3 monitors to work from.

Worked for 4 months then died, UGREEN honored the warrenty
I bought this in October 2025 for my wife’s laptop to run 2 monitors and other peripherals. It worked until February 2026 when it just died, not charging laptop, monitors, mouse and keyboard all not working. I did the diagnostic procedure, restarted laptop, shut down laptop and restarted, switched off power strip then switched it back on, and then tried the dock on my M1 MacBook Air with no success. I plugged the USB C power cable directly into laptop and it instantly started charging. Supposedly this hub has a 2 year warranty, but the UGREEN site doesn’t have a clear way to submit a warranty claim. I sent an email to one listed on their site so will see if they respond and honor the warranty. Update Feb 2026: I contacted UGREEN customer support via email and the same night got an email requesting the invoice, i sent a copy; the next night i got another reply asking if a refund would be satisfactory, I replied a refund would work; the next night I received an email saying a refund would be issued, the next night I received an email from Amazon saying a full refund had been issued. UGREEN did stand behind their warranty, but the warranty claim process does not have a clear how to proceed, you just send an email and hope someone responds.
