whose tail always forms a coiffed and prominent curl.
For years he has kept records of the daily weather,
organizing the data in a large leather bound ledger,
calculating when the nut harvest will be ready.
Twitching his nose and swishing his tail he paces,
to the ticking his grandfather’s bark trimmed clock,
checking his ever present pocket watch,
waiting for the first nut of the year to drop.
With the falling leaves he stops to rest,
retiring to sleep in his leaf and twig filled nest.
In December he awakes and dons his Sunday best.
 While his list of who to visit and what to see,
may change annually,
now that he knows you it is guaranteed,
at Christmas Scottie will always be,
 on or near your Christmas tree.
