Imported from our partner in Italy, the always great Wild Honey Records, this is Bee Bee Sea in the beginning, containing their first LP (2015) and concluding with the four cuts from their debut EP (2016), this absolutely needs to be listened to on vinyl to be truly appreciated, as listening to this on digital grabbed my attention, now listening to this on vinyl, it grabs more than my attention, reaches right in and grabs my heart, this easily stands next to their other albums (which even Iggy Pop voiced his praise upon) and this might just go on to become my personal favorite.  It's maybe slightly more low-fi and connected with the jangle and garage rock of the 1960s, clearly from the 21st century but reaching back to grab Cochran's collar and pull it through 1963, 1966, 1969, 1975 and 1977....bits of likely influences surfacing at different times, The Who, Small Faces, Monkees, Stones, Byrds, Tommy James, The Clash, and Bowie...the feel of stepping out and stepping back to wrap your leather jacket around your chest to keep out the cold, the sound of a band starting out, loaded with the tape hiss joy and backyard basement melancholy of youth, rhythm bouncing like the high-dive board above the blue of the swimming pool, barefooted, confident and afraid, moving along like three chums churning down a two-track on a Moped, swerving around potholes and rising the bottle to toast the sky, another essential from Bee Bee Sea.  -- winch (green noise records)
