The Police™ 4 Lightweight combines all the time-tested qualities of the iconic Police Model™ with the advantages of a lightweight, injection-molded handle. This limited-edition Sprint Run® expression of that design raises the bar even higher with a blade crafted from Carpenter® Technology’s Micro-Melt® PD#1. An air-hardening, cold-work die steel specially formulated to offer both superior wear resistance and toughness, PD#1’s advanced alloy composition is further enhanced by the CarTech® Micro-Melt powder metal process. This state-of-the-art process ensures an ultra-fine, extremely homogeneous grain structure. The full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ blade of this elite knife takes full advantage of these properties. To make it even more distinctive, it is cloaked in a non-reflective titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating and paired with a fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle that is injection molded in a deep burgundy color. Consistent with this stunning black-and-burgundy theme, the knife’s four-position pocket clip, lock bar, and handle hardware also sport durable black coatings.

The G10 Police 4 is a long discontinued model featuring full unnested liners and G10 scales with a peel-ply texture, giving this model extreme rigidity and equally extreme performance with it's K390 tool steel blade. Since K390 is not stainless, it can develop some patina or other surface corrosion, as seen on these factory second units which came straight from the Spyderco HQ.
