The people's history of the first great crowdsourcing experiment of the Victorian age- the Oxford English DictionaryWhat do three murderers, Karl Marx's daughter and a vegetarian vicar have in common?

They all helped create the Oxford English Dictionary. The Oxford English Dictionary has long been associated with elite institutions and Victorian men; its longest-serving editor, James Murray, devoted 36 years to the project, as far as the letter T. But the Dictionary didn't just belong to the experts; it relied on contributions from members of the public. By the time it was finished in 1928 its 414,825 entries had been crowdsourced from a surprising and diverse group of people, from archaeologists and astronomers to murderers, naturists, novelists, pornographers, queer couples, suffragists, vicars and vegetarians.Lexicographer Sarah Ogilvie dives deep into previously untapped archives to tell a people's history of the OED. She traces the lives of thousands of contributors who defined the English language, from the eccentric autodidacts to the family groups who made word-collection their passion. With generosity and brio, Ogilvie reveals, for the first time, the full story of the making of one of the most famous books in the world - and celebrates to sparkling effect the extraordinary efforts of the Dictionary People.

Sarah Ogilvie teaches at the University of Oxford, and specializes in language, dictionaries, and technology. As a lexicographer she has been an editor at the Oxford English Dictionary and was Chief Editor of Oxford Dictionaries in Australia. As a technologist she has worked in Silicon Valley at Lab 126, Amazon's innovation lab, where she was part of the team that developed the Kindle. She originally studied computer science and mathematics before taking her doctorate in Linguistics at the University of Oxford, and then taught at Cambridge and Stanford.

Solid Product
Color: Space Gray, Memory Storage Capacity: 32 GB, Size: Wi-Fi
Product is working very well. Only downfall is charging is a bit slow but, that could be related to the charge cord that came with it and not the device itselft.

Wow, it’s a bargain in acceptable condition. Works perfectly, and cosmetic condition is just fine (minor scratches on back, screen is perfect). Not buying new again.

The item works great. It hasn’t given me any issues. The battery lasts pretty long clean no scratches no bumps only thing the charger didn’t work, but that’s not a big deal. The tablet is extremely loud. The quality is great. The screen quality is also great strong. It’s just like a brand new tablet the touch screen it’s normal. It works just like a brand new tablet. Everything is great on this tablet. Haven’t had no issues and I’ve always bought used tablets and it was worth the Buy worth the money.

Reliable everyday iPad with smooth performance but limited storage sadly
Color: Silver, Memory Storage Capacity: 32 GB, Size: Wi-Fi, Color: Silver, Memory Storage Capacity: 32 GB, Size: Wi-Fi
The Apple 7th Generation iPad has been a very reliable device for everyday use. It runs smoothly when browsing, streaming videos, using social media, and handling basic apps without lag. The 10.2-inch screen is a great size big enough for comfort but still easy to carry around. The display is clear and bright, and the battery life holds up well for daily use. Setup was quick and simple, and it connects easily to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth accessories. The main downside is the 32GB storage. It fills up very fast, especially with apps, updates, and photos, so it works best if you rely on cloud storage or don’t download a lot. Overall, this is a solid and dependable iPad for students, casual users, or anyone who needs a simple IPAD for everyday tasks, Also I’ve had this iPad for about 3 months now… still in great condition Update : I’ll have to remove a star since the iPad dies very fast out of nowhere unfortunately :(
