Description: 

The Saguaro cactus is one of the most iconic and majestic cacti in the world.
A powerful symbol of the American Southwest, it’s often featured in art, film, and décor. Recognized globally for its towering, tree-like form with upward-reaching arms, the Saguaro is a true emblem of desert landscapes — frequently seen silhouetted against stunning desert sunsets.

Although mature saguaros can grow over 1,200 cm tall and live for 150–200 years, young plants grow extremely slowly — typically just 2.5 to 4 cm in the first 8 years. For most growers, especially outside their native range, saguaros are kept as small potted specimens and can remain in containers for many years before needing to be planted outdoors.

In late spring to early summer, mature saguaros produce white, waxy, night-blooming flowers about 8 cm wide. These mildly sweet-scented blooms attract bats, birds, and insects. Flowering begins at around 35 years of age, and occurs annually once the plant reaches maturity.
