Conceived in the cultural cellars of Bangkok, Thailand, and Geneva, Switzerland, Yantra Mandir the nine-track LP by Jerome Doudet, aka Yantra Mandir aka The Dude of Stratosphear, casts a wide net over experimental meditative ambient music, progressive drone, Brahmanic accents, and ritual oscillations. Together, this work represents a 20 year journey in Geneva of musical production, artistic expression, and the melting pot of experiences fused with the rich legacy of Indian spiritual sounds. The LP is partly a collaboration between five close collaborators, each contributing a single sound to complete the jigsaw, and partly comprised of field recordings of Bopa musicians from Rajasthan, in northern India. Added to the confluence are intricate layers of electric bass and electronic vibrations. The name derives from ancient Sanskrit words emblematic of the overarching sound. "Yantra" is the Sanskrit word for mystical diagrams found in the Tantric traditions of the Indus Valley. These diagrams are used to worship dieties at home or in temples, as a meditation aid, and to activate the various benefits and occult powers as defined by Hindu astrological and Tantric texts. "Mandir" is the Sanskrit word for a place in which a still mind and soul float freely search of life, peace, joy, and comfort. For centuries, the mandir has remained the nexus of a community where people forget their differences and voluntarily unite. "Garden of Reality" is the musical meeting point between Europe, Southeast Asia, and India - and everything in between from past, present, and future. Jerome Doudet was born in the beginning of the '70s with a father DJing in disco clubs. Raised in the alternative scene of the very international city of Geneva Switzerland, he started playing bass at the age of ten and spinning various old punk/funk/rock/reggae in squats all along the '90s. Bass player in bands such as Knut and Half Japanese, he now works with the experimental kraut band Bliscappen Van Maria, and on his tantric bass solo project Yantra Mandir. After many trips to India and South East Asia the Dude, always in search of new sounds, has sharpened his globe-spanning mix with far eastern psychedelic music and with largely unheard gems from across the musical spectrum. Presented in a double gatefold. 180 gram vinyl with printed inner sleeves. Edition of 300.

Serious Exfoliating Power
Color: Rectangular Gunmetal Grey, Color: Rectangular Gunmetal Grey
They possess some serious power! After working outside and managing to acquire some spots of stubborn grime that even abrasive soap wasn't tackling, I was excited to test a scrubber out. I ran it beneath water until the foam had softened and rubbed some soap into it, occasionally squeezing to generate some foam. The first time I used it, it felt a bit more abrasive than I personally cared for, but it felt softer the second time and was more comfortable. It demolished the spots of grime, I rinsed it out, squeezed as much water out, and left it to dry. It seems like the perfect size, and putting the strap around your hand makes it very comfortable to use. They do not require a lot of pressure to work, I found that gentle pressure was more than enough to clean and exfoliate. I'm not sure what to compare the material to, it's like an open cell foam that has some grit to it. I think the first point of failure will be the strap ripping off at some point with regular use. The strap feels a bit on the cheap side and is narrow, but it isn't uncomfortable to use at all! It's really just there to help you hold onto a soapy object in the shower, and give you something to hang it up by. All in all, the price is very reasonable for what you're getting and all foam will break down with use over time so they may require replacement, but they are far from single use!

HAND-SIZED EXFOLIATORS THAT LATHER WELL AND EARN A STARRING ROLE IN MY SHOWER ROUTINE
Color: Dark Grey, Color: Dark Grey
I have been using Nigerian exfoliating nets for a while. They exfoliate very well, but they are not my favorite for building up a rich lather. These solve that problem, so they have become part of my regular shower routine. I still use a net for my back as it is hard to reach, but for everywhere else these are more practical.
PACKAGING/CONTENTS:
* You get 2 round exfoliating scrubbers in sealed compressed packaging. Giftable.
EASE OF USE:
* Very simple. Soak, lather up, and scrub.
* The elastic hand strap is useful and keeps the pad secure, so there is less fumbling and dropping.
* The round shape is easy to control around tighter areas like behind the ears, collarbone, and ankles.
SIZE:
* Size is just right for hand use.
* It is compact enough to maneuver easily, but large enough to cover a decent amount of surface area with each pass.
QUALITY:
* Quality is excellent for a $9.99 two-pack.
* The exfoliating surface has enough bite to do its job, while the softer inner body keeps it from feeling harsh in the hand.
* The stitching and edge binding look solid, and the pad keeps its shape well when wet.
SOFTNESS AND EXFOLIATION:
* These are not ultra-soft fluffy bath sponges. They are exfoliators first.
* The textured outer surface does the work, and it gives a satisfying scrub without feeling absurdly aggressive.
* I would call the center comfort-oriented and the outer surface functional.
THICKNESS:
* Thickness is dialed in well for the use.
* Thick enough to feel substantial in the hand and provide spring, but not so chunky that it takes forever to rinse or dry.
DRYING TIME:
* Drying time is fast if you hang them by the loop or strap.
* They do not stay waterlogged the way some denser bath sponges can.
VALUE FOR MONEY:
* At $9.99 for a 2-pack, these are appropriately priced.
* Anticipate replacing them monthly which is a reasonable cost for the largest organ of the body.
OVERALL:
STRONG BUY. I am a convert. Will buy again.
