The Cisco Nexus 7000 4-Slot Switch Chassis is a modular, high-performance backbone designed for modern data centers. This chassis delivers scalable connectivity with two IO module slots, letting you tailor the port mix to evolving workloads. It supports up to 96 x 1/10-Gigabit Ethernet ports, 12 x 40-Gigabit Ethernet ports, and 4 x 100-Gigabit Ethernet ports, enabling a dense, flexible fabric that can adapt as your organization grows. Built to meet the needs of small to medium-sized data centers, co-locations, and enterprise campuses, the Nexus 7000 4-Slot framework combines robust performance with streamlined management to simplify day-to-day operations and long-term scalability.

  • Modular 4-slot chassis with two I/O module slots enables scalable deployments that adapt to evolving traffic patterns; you can mix and match IO modules to optimize performance, latency, and cost. The architecture supports gradual expansion—from initial deployments to larger, multi-tier fabrics—without requiring a complete replacement of core components.
  • High port density is designed for modern workloads, supporting up to 96 x 1/10-Gbps Ethernet, 12 x 40-Gbps Ethernet, and 4 x 100-Gbps Ethernet interfaces — ideal for top-of-rack aggregation and spine-leaf fabrics. This density helps reduce the number of devices needed in your network core while enabling high-bandwidth interconnects across racks.
  • Built for data centers, co-location facilities, and enterprise campuses, delivering predictable latency, deterministic performance, and simplified cabling with standardized 19-inch rack form factor. The chassis supports a clean, scalable topology that minimizes cable chaos and improves cooling efficiency in dense environments.
  • Cisco NX-OS powered with advanced features including virtualization support, multi-tenant isolation, security controls, and centralized management that scales with your network. Expect robust QoS, policy-based automation, VXLAN/EVPN capabilities, and seamless integration with Cisco management ecosystems for easier provisioning and monitoring.
  • Reliability and uptime are prioritized with hot-swappable components, redundant power options, and Cisco's rigorous software validation to minimize downtime and maintenance windows. This design emphasizes serviceability in busy data centers, enabling faster field replacements and continuous operation.

How to Install Cisco Nexus 7000 4-Slot Switch Chassis

  • Power down the equipment and prepare a clean, ventilated 19-inch rack with adequate clearance for service access and airflow. Verify that the rack environment meets electrical and thermal requirements before unboxing the chassis.
  • Mount the 4-slot chassis in the rack, align with the rack rails, and secure the chassis to prevent movement during installation. Attach grounding and chassis straps as required by local standards, and ensure all mounting hardware is tightened to specification.
  • Install the IO modules in the two available module slots; ensure each module is seated firmly and that all interconnects align with backplane connectors. Verify module compatibility with your intended topology and confirm link status before proceeding.
  • Insert required supervisor modules, line cards, and cooling components, then connect redundant power supplies to a clean power source with appropriate circuit protection. Route power feeds to maximize redundancy and maintain organized cabling for airflow efficiency.
  • Power on the chassis and perform initial health checks: verify LED indicators, run basic NX-OS initialization, and connect to a management console or centralized management system for configuration. Validate connectivity to downstream devices, then apply baseline security and QoS policies to establish a stable operational baseline.

If pump doesn't seem to work
Size: For 85-300 HP, Size: For 85-300 HP
Hi....I apologize it took me a while to get back to you with my results. Here is what I discovered about the pump and will also apply to some of the other comments I read in the reviews with people not getting the pump to work: 1.) I removed the pump to check the proper direction of the impeller and it was correct as can be seen in the photo. 2.) I built a pump shaft attachement so that I could operate the pump with a power drill. 3.) I attached the water muff to the unit and tried to pump water.....it wouldn't do so. What I did see however was that even at high hose discharge and small leakage at the muff I could not fill the water cavity in the housing. 4.) I installed a strap around the muff and tightened it very tight and THEN at high hose pressure I was able to get the cavity to fill with water. 5.) At that point I activated the drill and was able to get the pump to actually pump water. I then removed the pump housing and removed the O-Ring that resides on top of the impeller, reassembled and it would not pump water. Since the O-Ring sits higher than the original does I wanted to make sure that it was necessary to have it in the pump. 6.) I reassembled the engine and kept the tight strap on the bottom and finally it pumped water into the engine. My conclusion that you can reply to other buyers if they have a problem: Do NOT underestimate 2 things....1.)the lack of ability of the pump to draw water up AND 2.)the fact that if the muff leaks it will NOT fill the cavity when common sense says it should. This was a 120hp Johnson. The engine bottom must be immersed fully or the muff must be very tight on the lower unit for the pump to function. Please feel free to post this if you wish.
