Harrison Kane is a mercenary that just wants off planet PK-L7. Yuko’s motives are cloudier. Cassian Llyod, scion of a great industrial multinational wants whatever lies in that secret base in the planet’s desert. All of them must fight the Xenos, a plague upon the planet which devastated it prior. Onto this stage steps a strange girl, able to access computers with her mind. Can she guide them through the experimental lab that guards the secret of the Xeno breakout? With no trust between them, this group must fight the mutated Xenos at the same time they fight themselves. If they can’t come together, the secret of the Xenos might mean the end of all of them.

Just like Dead Contact, its CMON Comics predecessor, Playing Prometheus, the 2nd volume of the Zombicide: Invader comics features an amazing team of writers and artists, including Stefano Vietti (story, writing & editing), Pedro Núñez (cover art), Andres Mossa and Martina Saviane (colors), Antonio Esposito (Lettering), and Matteo Brembilla (graphic design).

This 100+ page hardcover graphic novel introduces a new party of characters brought together by sheer luck (or lack thereof), each with its own secrets to keep and personal objectives to fulfill, only hoping their interests won't pose a threat to their new allies.

Qwaa has seen too much of the Xeno threat, too close. Even if they could share the story with the other Survivors, it's likely they would choose not to. Their medical skills still come in handy, even if they're now treating different species, and their past experiences with the Xenos also make them surprisingly efficient in battle.

Shaila's hopeful and optimistic personality is a welcome change against the looming Xeno threat. In battle, she's unstoppable, and a force her allies can certainly count with. When she reaches red level, she also becomes quite lucky, so having her by your side is often a good idea.

As a loyal, efficient soldier, Yuko was always great at following her superior's orders. Now, she starts to wonder if her loyalty was placed on the right cause, as things suddenly appear not to be what she believed them to be. In any case, when danger emerges, it's always good to have someone as skilled as her on your team - her combat abilities are second to none.

Cassian knows how to get what he wants from people, whatever the means necessary. Skilled and ruthless in battle, it's better to be wary of him at all times, even if you're fighting side by side. He's an expert in dual weapons and can take in quite a lot of damage without losing his boastful demeanor.

Rog is as unstoppable as he's eccentric, but that doesn't mean he's not extremely competent in battle as well. To him, fighting Xenos is a form of art, and the same goes for cooking, and most of his abilities are used in both, such as his camouflage abilities and his scavenger resourcefulness. Fortunately for his comrades, only Xenos are seen as enemies... That is, as long as you don't complain about the dish of the day.

A.P.E. is a tough ally, something extremely important during dangerous encounters with big groups of Xeno. Survivors don't have to worry about A.P.E. during a fight, as it won't get hit by friendly fire and, if need arises, it will also get Survivors away from immediate danger.

It's hard to believe someone would try to make Xenos even scarier than they already were, but such is the case for this Abomination, the result of creativity and madness in equal parts. Theories about this creature's behavior are scarce and scary, so better to keep your distance and hope the big guns can take it down.

Sculpted by BigChild Creatives

Playing Prometheus also comes with another exclusive Abomination, that we'll keep secret for now, as its appearance may spoil the comic, answer a few questions, and raise many others. But don't worry too much: all answers will be found in the graphic novel!

In addition to the exclusive miniatures shown above, the CMON Comics - Vol. 2 Pre-order also comes with 2 exclusive Missions based on the story of the comics, plus all the cards needed to bring the action to the tabletop!

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger
