The Art of the Dead showcases the vibrant, charismatic poster art that emerged from the streets of San Francisco in 1964 and 1966. It traces the cultural, political, and historical influences of posters as art back to Japanese wood blocks through Bell Epoque, on to the Beatniks, the Free Speech Movement, and the Acid Tests. Featuring interviews and profiles of the key artists, including Rick Griffin, Stanley "Mouse" Miller, Alton Kelley, Wes Wilson, and Victor Moscoso.
The book uses Grateful Dead as the vehicle to tell the story of poster art as The Dead were the band that ultimately proved to be the most substantive and engaged partner for the artists and hence featured the best art of any rock 'n' roll band ever. The book will follow a chronological evolution of the art from the band's origination in 1965 through Jerry Garcia's death in 1995.
The book is in four-color throughout, featuring iconic and rare images as well as extensive "process" material, including sketches, original art, blue lines, film, and printing plates that show how the art was created. It will also include essays by Greil Marcus, Peter Coyote, and Victoria Binder, as well as essays on the elements of the printing process from the original art to the final poster. Ultimately, the Art of the Dead makes the case that poster art is truly an original form of American fine art.

Alright, here's a product review for those Tough Dog Toys:
Finally, a Toy That Survives My Monster! - Tough Dog Toys Review
As the owner of a determined (and I mean determined) large breed chewer, finding toys that last longer than five minutes has been a constant and often frustrating quest. I've gone through countless plush toys ripped to shreds, rubber toys with chunks missing, and even some "indestructible" toys that met their demise far too quickly. That's why I was both hopeful and skeptical when I came across the Tough Dog Toys, designed specifically for aggressive chewers and large breeds.
Let me tell you, these bone-shaped nylon toys are living up to their name. My power-chewing Labrador has been going at this thing for days now, and I'm genuinely impressed. Where other toys have succumbed to his relentless gnawing, the Tough Dog Toy has held its own. There are some minor teeth marks, as expected, but absolutely no significant damage, no pieces torn off, and no signs of imminent destruction. "Almost indestructible" might actually be an understatement!
The design is simple but effective. The solid nylon construction feels incredibly durable, and the bone shape is easy for my dog to grip and maneuver. It's also a good size for a large breed – substantial enough that he can really get a good chew going without it disappearing in his mouth.
What I appreciate most is the peace of mind this toy provides. I no longer have to constantly supervise playtime, fearing that he'll ingest pieces of a destroyed toy. This feels like a safe and long-lasting option for even the most enthusiastic chewers.
Pros:
* Truly durable – stands up to aggressive chewing from a large breed.
* Solid nylon construction feels virtually indestructible.
* Safe design with no small parts to break off.
* Good size and shape for large dogs to grip and enjoy.
* Provides long-lasting entertainment.
Cons:
* May show some teeth marks over time (though this hasn't compromised its integrity).
* It's a fairly hard material, so dogs who prefer softer toys might not be as interested.
Overall:
If you're at your wit's end trying to find a toy that can withstand your aggressive chewing large breed dog, I highly recommend giving the Tough Dog Toys a try. This bone toy has proven to be the most durable option we've encountered, offering excellent value for money and, most importantly, a safe and engaging chewing experience for your furry friend. Five out of five paws!

it was a bit too hard/small for my Great Pyrenees, so it didn’t work out for my dog specifically

Indestructible dog toy

I have an 85 lb Pitbull and he loves to chew on those kind of hard bones but the meat flavor and scent is only in the middle the knobs on the end are just plain nylon and yes it is taking him a long time to get through them but little white fibers keep coming off I find them on the couch and he nibbles and tries to eat it so I believe he's eating the nylon and still has yet to get to where the beef flavor is in the center he doesn't chew from the middle he goes from the end all of his other chew toys he has he has demolished this one not so much I only gave four stars because my dog doesn't like it so much it is a very good sturdy toy though and has a good beefy smell. And a fair price.
