With Moroccan pigments and Vietnamese paints, Mazzucco’s pieces are characterised by the juxtaposition between wildlife and cultural photography, this incredible piece forms part of his introspective collection Grass Roots 2023. “Kuhama (Migrate)” features photography taken in Kenya, Africa mainly in sepia earthy tones, enhancing the raw beauty of the images. The piece tells a story in layers. The overlaying of photography, paint, and resin adds life into the composition, creating a statement original. The pops of colour added sporadically throughout the composition create the spontaneous dynamic that this wildlife piece represents. The use of different images sizes and its repetition create the intrinsic depth, characteristic of Mazzucco’s originals.

This piece is part of “Grass Roots”, still containing sepia and earthy tones but introducing a new colour palette to Mazzucco’s existing style. The extension of colours is referent to the vibrant colourful pieces with the Amazon scenes, introducing a new exotic colour palette as opposed to the beauty of Africa in sepia tones.
