　　1979年出生於日本靜岡縣的生物學家（農業學博士）。專門研究爬蟲類，曾走遍全球50個以上的國家，在當地調查稀有的爬蟲類。熱衷於保育生物學（保護生態學），持續研究外來種對日本生態系造成的影響。近期著作有《日本的驚人生物圖鑑》（大和出版）、《圖解大事典 絕種動物》（新星出版社）等。
