What if children could notice those clues before feelings become overwhelming?

Big feelings often begin as small body signals — a fluttery tummy, sleepy eyes, a dry mouth, a fast heartbeat or a body that feels “turbo.” The Inner Clue Detectives: The Book helps children slow down and notice these inner clues in a safe, curious and child-friendly way.

Follow siblings Adrian and Emilia as they become Inner Clue Detectives, discovering everyday body signals and learning what their bodies might be trying to communicate. With interactive prompts, simple reflection tools and co-regulation language for adults, this book is a practical resource for home, school, therapy and sensory spaces.

Created by paediatric Occupational Therapist Jacinta Kitanoski, this is more than just a story. Children are invited to pause, notice, and explore their own inner clues alongside the characters through simple, interactive prompts, while giving parents, educators and therapists helpful language to guide calm, connected conversations.

What people are saying:

“What an amazing book. It’s such an informative, well-written neuroaffirming book. It has helped my son become more in tune with his inner clues and understand his body better before feelings become overwhelming. It has also helped me learn how to talk to him about his inner clues, leading to a calmer, more settled home environment. I couldn’t thank you more for creating this excellent book — it truly feels like something every household needs!

“Fantastic. Highly recommended! This is one of the best neuroaffirming and trauma-informed books available. It’s clear, easy to understand, culturally inclusive, fun, and highly engaging. An incredible resource for any environment! Thank you for educating us all about interoception. I’ve already recommended it to my family, friends, and my daughter’s teachers.”

Good Review of the Intel Disciplines
Format: Kindle
I rented this book as required for an intelligence collections course I as taking. It is a good rundown on the different INT disciplines and the bureaucratic organizations managing the different INT categories. This book does not really touch on the various collection programs used to manage collections, or what the nomenclature of those requirements are, so reading this book will not teach you about intelligence collection management beyond gaining a foundational understanding of what the various INTs are used for.

Don't buy school books from Amazon
Format: Paperback
Thought I bought new, book came with an obsurd "Amazon Rentals" sticker on it. Looks used and abused. Will not be buying books needed for school from Amazon ever again.

A great academic primer
Format: Paperback
I found this to a great source for looking up details on how the IC defines the types of data it gathers. It's not necessarily a straight-read type of title, but I do keep it by my sofa, when reading the daily paper. It helps to better understand the viability of such things like the use of patrol planes along the Arabian Gulf borders or how the raw data of the Steele Dossier helps inform the decision makers, for example.
