La Grinozza is a playful liter of fizzing red, being juicy, and made for sharing. The grape behind it once held royal status, a favorite of Italian nobility centuries ago. Today, the Cellario family revives it with a fresh, natural touch, celebrating its ability to make a bright, lively, and easy-drinking red that feels both rooted in tradition and full of fun.

In the glass, La Grinozza sparkles with strawberry, cherry, and red currant, lifted by herbal notes and a delicate crack of white pepper; aromatic, and refreshing, it’s the kind of sparkling red that begs to be chilled and poured generously—whether alongside a picnic, pizza night, or just good company. 12% abv.

About the Winemaker

Fausto and Cinzia Cellario are third-generation winemakers from Carrù, a small village on the western edge of the Langhe hills. They focus on local Piedmontese grapes and are passionate about keeping traditions alive, both in the vineyards and the cellar. The family farms 13 hectares of vines, along with a few hazelnut trees, across three sites in the southern Langhe, with their prized Dogliani plot making them proud “Dolcetto Specialists.” Their approach is simple and natural, having everything farmed organically and dry-farmed, harvested by hand in small bins, fermented with native yeasts, and made with little to no sulphur — only when really needed. The wines are never fined or filtered and age in big neutral oak barrels, concrete tanks, or raw amphora.

They grow Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Favorita, Nascetta, and Grignolino, plus a splash of Pinot Noir for fun. At the heart of it, the Cellarios make honest, characterful wines that reflect their land — and are exactly the kind of bottles they love to drink themselves.

I want to thank the manufacturer for changing the design of this shape to an easier to swallow elliptical shape instead of the jaw breaker shape.

GREAT READ
Format: Hardcover
I can’t stop thinking about Laws of Love and Logic, a debut novel by Debra Curtis. It’s beautifully written, incredibly heartbreaking, but nevertheless hopeful. It’s definitely not your typical romance novel rather it’s heavily character driven, and thought provoking. The characters feel so real. The way the author writes about the sisters’ relationship will stay with me forever. Also, having grown-up Catholic, I was so inspired to see progressive Catholicism with an emphasis on serving the most vulnerable, as being a foundational part of the sisters’ lives. The story spans decades, opening in the 70s and follows the characters into middle age. If you like books by Elizabeth Strout and Ann Patchett, you’ll love this one.
