This listing is for a do-it-yourself kit featuring my original "Lemonade The Clown" character. The doll was designed using traditional analog techniques and illustrated entirely with watercolor. The original watercolor painting was then scanned and printed on heavy cotton cardstock so you can cut it out and assemble it at home. The fully assembled doll is about 7.5 inches tall.

INCLUDES
*one 8.5x11 paper doll sheet printed on heavy cotton cardstock
*miniature brads/split pins for assembly
*assembly instructions

YOU WILL NEED
*a cutting mat and a sharp utility knife with replacement blades
*a fine awl, needle, or other sharp, pointed object for creating very small holes
*a black fineliner marker for touching up the edges (optional)
*sewing or embroidery thread (to assemble the kinetic jumping jack mechanism)
*twine, string, or some other form of cord (to activate the kinetic jumping jack mechanism)
*patience and attention to detail

DIFFICULTY
Lemonade the Clown should be fairly easy for most teens and adults to cut out, but assembling the kinetic mechanism to turn the articulated paper clown into a jumping jack will require some patience and finesse. This is a papercraft project of moderate difficulty.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER
When I was a child, I was given one of those sandbag clown dolls with a heavy porcelain head and bright blue hair. I lost track of it many years ago and can't recall any other details about it other than enjoying the weighty heft of it and the faint air of mystery that hung about it, but my vague memories of that toy have long made me want to create a benevolent blue-haired clown doll of my own.
