Winemaker Notes

The NV Ruinart Rosé Champagne Second Skin Gift Box is a vibrant and elegant blend of Chardonnay (45%) and Pinot Noir (55%), with a portion of the Pinot Noir vinified as red wine to enhance its color and depth. It displays a delicate pomegranate pink hue with light orange reflections and fine, persistent bubbles. The nose opens with fresh red berries, cherry, and exotic fruits like lychee and guava, layered with rose petals, spices such as tonka bean and nutmeg, and a touch of pink grapefruit. On the palate, it’s silky, rounded, and fresh, with a voluptuous texture, subtle tannins, and a refreshing mineral finish. This Champagne pairs beautifully with smoked salmon, prosciutto, duck, or even exotic dishes, making it a versatile and luxurious choice for any celebration.

About Winery

Ruinart Champagne is the oldest established Champagne house, founded in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart in Reims, France. The inspiration came from his uncle, Dom Thierry Ruinart, a Benedictine monk who foresaw the potential of sparkling wine long before it became popular. Initially, Ruinart Champagne was offered as a gift to clients of the family’s cloth business, but its success led Nicolas to abandon textiles and focus solely on Champagne production by 1735. Ruinart was also among the first to age its wines in the ancient chalk quarries (crayères) beneath Reims, which provide ideal conditions for maturation. Over the centuries, Ruinart has become renowned for its elegant, Chardonnay-driven cuvées and its deep connection to the arts, maintaining a legacy of innovation and refinement in the world of fine Champagne.

Cute but
Format: Hardcover
Caution that some children may be alarmed by the crocodile swallowing the watermelon seed. Know your audience. Otherwise a very cute, silly story that is great for a summer read or watermelon theme lesson.
