The rectangular grate is designed to secure to the outside of the boat over a through hull skin fitting to prevent debris entering the intake system.
The strainer grating can be secured to the hull using four screws although it is recommended to use a marine sealant as well.
Important note: All fittings used for through hull applications must be correctly electrically bonded to ensure protection from electrolytic corrosion. Bronze is highly suitable for below waterline through hull applications.
