With the launch of the Lineage Series, we began redefining what modern orchestral libraries could be. Our ambition was clear: craft a world-class collection of premium string recordings and redesign the way they respond, so they can truly serve the composer .

For two years, we recorded, refined, and reimagined. Every detail was shaped around a single question: how can a virtual orchestra feel less programmed and more alive?

Adaptive Phrasing

For Pandora and Lineage Percussion, we developed Adaptive Sync. With Lineage Strings, we’re introducing Adaptive Phrasing, bringing the same time-saving concept to articulations.

Adaptive Phrasing turns a single articulation into a flexible performance tool. By tracking your note lengths, speed, and repetition, it automatically selects the most appropriate articulation for each musical moment. The result is phrasing that follows your performance and keeps lines sounding musical and intentional – without constant articulation switching.

Need full control? Simply hold a keyswitch to force any articulation at any time, like pizzicato.

Intelligent Arranging

The Lineage Strings Arranger automatically orchestrates your performance across Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, and Bass, creating authentic string ensemble voicing with a single performance.

You can fully customize how each section behaves – but what truly sets the Arranger apart is its intelligent automatic mode, configurable per instrument.

Play a chord, and the engine distributes the notes naturally across the ensemble. If certain sections are locked to specific roles (e.g. the top note), the remaining instruments are automatically arranged around them, just like a real orchestrator would do. Beautifully balanced, realistic ensemble writing – without manually splitting parts or juggling MIDI tracks.

Polyphonic legato

Lineage Strings offers polyphonic legato, which intelligently tracks and handles voices, allowing multiple legato lines to flow at once. Instead of thinking in terms of samples, you can think in terms of music – and simply play.

Precision control

Lineage Strings gives you direct control over ensemble tightness. From loose and natural to tight and immediate. Loose settings preserve the natural bloom of the players, while tighter settings deliver focused, punchy articulation. And with Smart Lookahead enabled, even loose performances are automatically compensated: your musical timing stays locked to the grid while the ensemble keeps its human feel.

Automatic vibrato

Add subtle, musical motion to your performance by automatically shaping vibrato based on your dynamics and phrasing. This doesn’t replace your own automation – simply touch your controller and automatic vibrato is temporarily disabled. The result is smoother phrasing, more emotional sustain, and performances that feel played, not programmed.

Full bowing control

Lineage Strings gives you precise control over string bowing. Down and up bows can

alternate automatically, be set explicitly, or be overridden on the fly – enabling more natural phrasing. Bowing direction resets intelligently when a new phrase or downbeat is detected, keeping your rhythmic patterns fluid and musical.

Accessibility

Lineage Strings supports both NKS1 and NKS2 standards, offering direct access to all essential features and parameters through controllers like Komplete Kontrol.

ProjectSAM universe with depth and detail. The close mics offer you nuance, the stage mics warmth, and the ambient mics depth. Blend them together, use them separately, or choose the premixed set for a ready-made balance.
