The introduction of 0.5 increments allows drivers and teams to fine-tune their gearing with far greater accuracy than full-tooth options. By adjusting the rear sprocket in half-tooth steps while maintaining the same front sprocket, you can dial in better acceleration or top-end speed to match track conditions and engine performance without over-gearing or under-gearing the kart.
