OHAUS Rotator Genie, Roto-Rock Genie, and Roto-Shake Genie for Canadian Laboratories

The OHAUS Multi-Mode Rotator Genie product family gives Canadian laboratories flexible options for tube rotation, rocking, timed rock/rotate cycles, and orbital shaking. The lineup includes the Rotator Genie for straightforward rotation, the Roto-Rock Genie for programmable rocking and rotating, and the Roto-Shake Genie for labs that need rocking, rotating, and optional orbital shaking capability.

Cambridge Environmental supplies OHAUS Genie lab equipment to Canadian research, microbiology, biotechnology, food science, environmental, university, and industrial QA/QC laboratories that need compact benchtop sample mixing equipment with practical model selection support.

Common Canadian Applications

  • Tube rotation and gentle sample mixing
  • Rocking workflows for staining, washing, and incubation steps
  • Hybridization-style sample handling
  • Microplate, flask, bottle, bag, and irregular vessel mixing
  • Western blot and blot box workflows

  • University, teaching, and research laboratories

Why Choose the OHAUS Multi-Mode Rotator Genie Line?

This product family is useful when a lab needs more flexibility than a fixed-angle tube rotator or simple rocking platform. The Magneto-magic magnetic platform accepts clip plates and bag strips at different angles and in different combinations, allowing users to configure the platform for tubes, microplates, flasks, bags, and unusual vessel shapes.

  • Three model options for rotation, rocking, and shaking workflows
  • Magneto-magic magnetic platform system for flexible vessel placement
  • Accepts tubes, microplates, flasks, bags, and irregularly shaped vessels
  • Tool-free setup for changing sample formats
  • Cold room and incubator compatible within the stated operating range
  • Rocking tray included for large open containers
  • Optional accessories available for clip plates, microtube boxes, blot boxes, and expanded workflows
  • Compact benchtop footprint for space-limited laboratories

Model Selection Guide

Model Best For Why Choose It
Rotator Genie Simple tube and vessel rotation Best choice when your lab mainly needs straightforward analog rotation for tubes, vessels, and gentle sample mixing.
Roto-Rock Genie Programmable rocking, rotating, and timed auto-switching Best choice when your lab needs touchscreen control, adjustable speed, timer control, rocking angle control, and automatic switching between rocking and rotating.
Roto-Shake Genie Rotation, rocking, and optional orbital shaking Best choice when your lab needs more mixing flexibility, including rocking, rotating, and horizontal or 3D orbital shaking with optional attachments.

Which Model Should You Choose?

Choose the Rotator Genie if your lab needs a simple, compact rotator for routine tube rotation and gentle sample mixing.

Choose the Roto-Rock Genie if your lab needs programmable rocking, rotating, timed cycles, touchscreen control, adjustable angle, and better repeatability across different users or protocols.

Choose the Roto-Shake Genie if your lab needs the broadest mixing flexibility, including rotation, rocking, and optional orbital shaking. This is the strongest option when your team wants one platform to cover several mixing styles.

Accessories and Sample Compatibility

The OHAUS Rotator Genie family can be configured with clip plates, bag strips, microtube boxes, blot boxes, rocking trays, stacking trays, and shaker attachments depending on the selected model and application. This makes the platform useful for labs that work with multiple vessel types instead of one fixed tube format.

Common compatible sample formats include tubes, microplates, flasks, bags, bottles, blot boxes, and irregularly shaped vessels. Cambridge Environmental can help confirm the correct model and accessory combination before ordering.

Just linear
Format: Paperback
I appreciate that it helps to organize the chaos of information, but I just used the template verbatim with my manager and it did not go very well. He said this linear approach does not work anymore with high-level corporate audiences. They want to cut right to the chase and start to dig into the deep details. This layout with simple images, even if you just pull away the map and anchor slides, makes the storytelling too much like a story, not giving enough credit to the speed at which certain audiences can and do process data on a slide. It was an interesting exercise and I still think this linear layout works in some cases. Just not if you are trying to communicate business case or other C-suite type of information.

Student Review
This book is an excellent introduction to the basic principles of insurance. We used this text as a supplement in our Intro to Act. Sci. class. It is very readable, easy to understand. Minimal mathematics required, some basic calculus concepts used, but only briefly. Don't let it's small size fool ya, it has plenty of information in there.

A #MustRead for cybersecurity practitioners
Format: Kindle
Rick Howard's latest book is the ultimate reference for cybersecurity practitioners, making it an essential read for anyone in the field. With his straightforward and refreshingly irreverent writing style, coupled with his profound technical knowledge, Rick has created a narrative that is easy to understand and grasp. He delves into the foundational aspect of cybersecurity, which he refers to as the cybersecurity first principle, which he then it to specific high-impact strategies. The book has eight well-written chapters providing a comprehensive overview of those strategies. Importantly, Rick then offers an up-to-date and thorough exploration of the complementary capabilities (tactical-level tools) that can be utilized to "reduce the probability of material impact due to a cyber event" - the cyber first principle. In the concluding chapter, Rick succinctly summarizes his contribution to the field, stating, "And that's it. Those are all the tools you need to design, build, and enhance a cybersecurity program based on first principle thinking." This assertion highlights the value of his book as a practical guide for designing and improving cybersecurity programs with a focus on first principles.
