Elevate your projection performance with the Sony VPLL-FM22 Wide Angle Lens, a precision-engineered optical instrument designed to maximize screen coverage and image quality in professional environments. With a bright f/2.0 maximum aperture and a compact, robust build, this lens delivers a wide, immersive field of view without sacrificing brightness or color fidelity. It is purpose-built to integrate with select Sony projection systems, enabling operators to achieve sharp, high-contrast projections across large venues, from corporate rooms to immersive experiential installations. The VPLL-FM22 is crafted for reliability under demanding schedules, providing consistent performance from setup to teardown and making it a trusted choice for rental houses, AV integrators, and event professionals.

In practice, the VPLL-FM22 translates every projection into a vivid, cinematic experience. Its 22mm wide-angle design expands the image footprint, allowing you to fill large screens with fewer throw distances while preserving edge-to-edge sharpness. The optical formula includes coatings and careful element placement that reduce flare and color fringing, ensuring faithful color reproduction even in challenging lighting conditions. Operators appreciate the lens’s precise mechanical feel—smooth focusing, dependable engagement with the projector’s mount, and a secure locking mechanism that keeps alignment intact during transport and setup. While optimally suited for projection, its high-performance optical characteristics also benefit professional imaging workflows that require dependable, distortion-controlled projection across diverse content types and venues.

  • Ultra-wide 22mm focal length expands screen coverage, enabling expansive projections on large displays with minimal distortion and consistent geometry from edge to edge.
  • Bright f/2.0 maximum aperture delivers strong brightness performance, improved contrast, and richer color saturation even when ambient light is present or throw distances are shorter than ideal.
  • Engineered for Sony projection systems, delivering precise mounting, reliable alignment, and smooth focus control that technicians can trust in busy production environments.
  • Optical design minimizes distortion and maintains color fidelity across the image, supporting accurate representations of text, graphics, and video content on large screens.
  • Built for durability and repeatable performance, with robust construction that stands up to daily use in rental fleets, educational campuses, and corporate installations.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What screen sizes and throw distances is the VPLL-FM22 best suited for? A: The VPLL-FM22 is designed to maximize coverage for large screens with wide throw ratios. Exact performance depends on your specific projector model and throw distance; consult the projector’s optical calculator or user manual for precise guidance.
  • Q: Is the VPLL-FM22 compatible with all Sony VPL projectors? A: The lens is intended for use with select Sony projection systems. Check your projector model’s compatibility guide or contact Sony support to confirm that your VPL unit supports the VPLL-FM22 lens.
  • Q: Can I adjust lens shift or keystone with this lens installed? A: The VPLL-FM22 works in concert with the projector’s built-in optical corrections. It does not replace dedicated lens-shift mechanisms, so you’ll still rely on the projector’s own correction features for geometric adjustments.
  • Q: How should I clean and maintain the lens? A: Use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth and approved lens-cleaning solutions. Avoid touching the glass elements with bare fingers, and perform gentle, circular cleaning to protect coatings and preserve image quality over time.
  • Q: What advantages does a wide-angle projection lens offer for presentations? A: A wide-angle lens like the VPLL-FM22 expands the imagery onto larger screens with fewer throws, enabling more immersive visuals, easier audience engagement, and stronger spatial perception for displayed data and media.

Decent printer
The print quality and speed are great. I currently have several different printers for various needs (laser for work, sublimation for crafting, and this one is potentially replacing my ink jet, for stickers) and this one is faster and a nicer quality print than my similarly priced of a different brand. Sometimes (and for literally no reason that I've been able to identify) this printer decides it doesn't want to print. Exactly like every other printer I've ever owned, connectivity can feel chaotic. Overall, all things considered, I think this a decent value for the money. It was easy to set up and get printing. Minimal packaging. Intuitive design. Up and printing within 5 minutes. I love the ability to print is larger formats. I did not sign up for the free 3 months of ink club, so cannot comment on that. So far, the ink consumption feels typical for an inkjet printer. Overall, this is a yes from me.

requirement: scan codes & down load proprietary app to set up & use all the functions of the unit
SPECS The printer weighs 39.19 pounds.  Overall it is 22.625 x 17.5 x 12.03125 inches.  The output tray extender sticks out 5.875 inches from the unit.  The usable power cord length is 59.5 inches. The unit can use legal [B00006GNXZ], letter [B0B57CKBCT], or ledger [B0017LR3M4] size paper. The control panel tilts up and is a color touch screen. The display is 2.125 x 1.625 inches.  The unit has two sided coping, scanning, and printing. There is a document feeder on the top.  The home screen has menu, copy, scan, trays, supplies, jobs, and help as the main functions.  Firmware updates can be set to automatic, notify, or disabled.  The printer does not come with a user manual.  OVERVIEW The unit comes wrapped in a plastic bag that has handles on each side. I was able to easily lift the printer up myself using the handles and took it to the desk.  The printer is missing some key features that do not make the printer cost effective. There is only one print tray. A fold out rear tray vertical tray is not even there.  Having to constantly change paper size is an extreme inconvenience. There is no USB port to be able to print from or scan documents to a USB hard drive or directly from a camera, which is a disadvantage.    In addition, to utilize all the features a code needs to be scanned and or the H P app needs to be used.  I did not like having to scan a code to set up and connect to wireless connection as well as using any of the scan features of email, network folder, computer, and share point, which makes the scan option useless. I had to download the HP app to set up the printer. When I was done I deleted the app. I do not want numerous apps on my devices.  I found not having a manual for the unit to be a disadvantage.  This is not a user friendly printer with all the code and app requirements.  Using the web address on my laptop and phone, just gave me a link to the play store to download the app again, which I did not want.  The size of the display screen is small. At times I had to touch the menu button more than one time to get it to continue to the next screen.   The unit functioned well printing and scanning. I was able to print from the computer via wireless connection without using the app. The copy function does not require the app or show a code to scan to be able to continue. The document feeder allows for quick copying and scanning, which is an advantage. The rollers did grab a one sheet copy job crooked and the copy was askew on the page which is a disadvantage.  On best, the copy did not come out any better than normal.  The copy images were a poor representation of the original. The copy images were more pix elated making them not as complete and crisp. In addition, the single color grey images were very pale and could barely be seen. I did not sign up for HP instant ink, compatibility. I also disabled firmware updates.

Easy set-up, high quality prints, beautiful design!
This sleek and modern print/copy station has every feature you could ever need. With an easy set-up and user friendly interface and endless ink supply, this device exponentially enhances work-flow reduces technological headaches for good! Let's be real. My old printer had been a great work-horse for many years. Unfortunately as I upgraded my computer setup and phone, it was no longer syncing appropriately and had become a manual, troubleshooting headache! I was having to print the "even" pages on auto handling, then flip them by hand to print the "odd" pages with normal handling, then re-order appropriately. Not only this, but the cartridge price for my old device had risen to $30 per cartridge and I was constantly needing to replace and go through the pain of a slow, manual alignment process. Something needed to change. And that is when the HP OfficeJet Pro stepped in. The setup was an absolute dream. The provided QR code takes you directly to a setup slide-show that walks you through each step one at a time (I've posted a few screen-shots of the interface). Everything worked smoothly and as intended. I especially appreciated the speedy, automatic alignment. Once set-up was complete, I was able to effortlessly connect through all of my devices and print! The quality of the print was crisp, high quality and each page was ready lickety-split. The only con I could possibly note is that it isn't the most quiet printer I've ever used. If you need something whisper quiet, you may need to look at something else or move the printer to a more appropriate location. Once set up, I created an account and signed up for the subscription-based ink refills, which I think is a really ingenious idea. I actually chatted in with an HP representative regarding this (they were easy to get a hold of) to further clarify how it works. In a nutshell, you decide how many pages you anticipate printing in a month and you pay for that amount if ink. There is a sensor chip in the ink cartridge that lets HP know when youre about to run out of ink and they'll send you more...regardless if where you're at in your subscription. So, if I didnt quite use my 100 pages worth of ink, it wont bill my next month or send ink until I'm ready. This works out to be one heck of a deal. All told, 100 pages will only cost 7.99 rather than my usual 30 (or 60 if you count both ink and color). On top of functionality, this is also a beautiful piece of office equipment. I adore the soft white tone of the unit, which looks both uplifting and peaceful in my work area. Its the little things, I swear. Not only does it look peaceful, but it has taken extra stress off of my plate by being so easy to work with. Plus I don't have to add ink to my shopping list anymore! I think you'll find this unit to be well worth your while, and if its anything like my old HP printers, it's hopefully going to last a good handful of years!

Incredible image quality even when enlarged to full capacity
The quality and reliability of HP OfficeJet printers is unmatched, from my experience. I use this printer for regular everyday things like return labels and printing out documents but my favorite thing to use it for are art and design projects. I am able to copy an image and enlarge it up to 400%, or minimize its size to 25% which is an incredible range and perfect for design and art projects. As long as the ink cartridges are all at full capacity my images always come out flawless, even when I enlarge them huge. As long as I send an image in the right format or copy from a hard copy image it is always clear and crisp, not pixalized. Our craft room/office is in the basement and I am easily able to print from my kitchen or bedroom from my phone or laptop which is very convenient. The array of functions, the quality of the image, and the bright beautiful rich colors this printer is able to produce is really great if you plan to use it for design or art. I have never had a paper jam, which is very impressive considering I am always changing to photo paper as well as multiple different sized paper. I just received this printer but the HP printer I was using before still works like a charm and is close to 20 years old, if you are using this for your home I can't imagine having to replace it. My absolute favorite part is a 4 pack of extra large ink is $47.99 which is almost half of what my other printers ink cost. The wide format and large paper size I am able to print on has made our art projects really beautiful and uniform, rather than having to try to hide the seams of multiple pages taped together. Incredible product.

Pray you don't need HP Support to set up printer
HP Support is the absolute worst. If you have any setup issues with your HP printer, you're on your own. Their support is practically useless. I’ve been on a two-hour call trying to get wireless printing working. I’ve been transferred to three different people, and none of them knew how to help. Now I’m stuck on indefinite hold (over 30 minutes and counting) with no resolution in sight. I can print fine with a USB cable, but it simply will not print wirelessly no matter what we try. Extremely disappointed and frustrated with HP right now.
