The Cisco Catalyst WS-C3560X-48P-L is a powerhouse Ethernet switch designed for enterprise networks that demand reliability, scalability, and intelligent traffic management. Part of Cisco’s Catalyst 3560-X family, this 48-port PoE+ Layer 3 switch provides robust access and distribution-layer capabilities with energy-efficient operation. Built for solid performance in dynamic environments, it combines enterprise-grade features with ease of management, helping organizations deliver high-quality voice, video, and data services across departments and campuses. With its PoE+ ports, stackable architecture, and resilient IOS XE software, the WS-C3560X-48P-L supports growing networks, complex policy enforcement, and secure connectivity for today’s connected devices from IP phones to wireless APs and IP cameras.

  • Powerful PoE+ capability for dynamic workspaces - 48 PoE+ ports (IEEE 802.3af/at capable) provide power to IP phones, cameras, wireless access points, and other PoE devices directly from the switch, simplifying deployment and reducing clutter. The total PoE budget enables flexible, scalable device placement across offices or classrooms, while keeping wiring simple and centralized.
  • Flexible uplink and dense port mix - Four 1G SFP uplink ports offer versatile, high-speed connections to the core network, data center devices, or aggregation switches. This design supports efficient star or spine configurations and helps minimize bottlenecks as traffic patterns evolve.
  • Layer 3 routing for efficient inter-VLAN communication - This switch isn’t just a fast access layer device; it performs Layer 3 routing (static and dynamic) to enable efficient inter-VLAN routing, optimized path selection, and reduced latency across campus networks. Ideal for distributing traffic between departments, campuses, or building segments while preserving security boundaries.
  • Security, QoS, and governance at scale - Built-in security features include ACLs, 802.1X authentication, and secure management access (SSH, SNMPv3). Coupled with advanced QoS, traffic prioritization for voice and video, traffic shaping, and policy-based routing, the WS-C3560X-48P-L supports reliable, policy-driven network behavior for business-critical applications.
  • Energy efficiency and resilient design - The 3560-X family emphasizes energy efficiency with Cisco EnergyWise-supported features and efficient power management, helping organizations lower operating costs. Its reliable hardware design and stack-ready architecture enable scalable growth, redundancy, and simpler management in mid- to large-size deployments.

How to install Cisco Catalyst WS-C3560X-48P-L

To install the Cisco Catalyst WS-C3560X-48P-L, begin by planning your deployment in alignment with your campus or data-center design. Mount the switch securely in a standard 19-inch rack using the included mounting hardware, ensuring proper ventilation and clearance for airflow. Connect the 48 PoE+ ports to endpoint devices such as IP phones, cameras, and wireless access points, following your network design and labeling conventions. Attach the four 1G SFP uplinks to your core router or distribution switches, providing redundant paths and flexible network topology. Connect the switch to a suitable power source and power it on, then establish a console or SSH session for initial configuration. Configure a management IP address, default gateway, and access policies to secure management interfaces. Create VLANs as required by your network, assign ports to their respective VLANs, and enable inter-VLAN routing through static routes or dynamic routing protocols. Enable PoE on necessary ports and set power management policies to optimize energy usage without compromising device performance. If deploying multiple WS-C3560X-48P-L units, leverage StackWise Plus to stack switches into a single logical unit for simplified management and improved resilience; install stacking cables as recommended by Cisco, verify the stack status, and configure a unified management IP and spanning tree settings for stable operation. Finally, implement QoS profiles to prioritize voice and video traffic, enable security features such as 802.1X authentication and ACLs, and set up ongoing monitoring through SNMP or Cisco management tools to ensure performance, security, and compliance with organizational policies.

From Eden to Exile: The Five Thousand Year History of The People of The Bible
Format: Paperback
Well written book about a very interesting subject. Author is basically restructuring the traditionally accepted royal dynasty time periods of the Egyptian Pharaohs. I do accept that the traditional ancient time spans are mostly not accurate. This inaccuracy causes problems when trying to date other cultures of the same periods. The prime example is the biblical history of the Hebrews. When adjusting the Egyptian historical writings to around 200 years later you then do see references to accounts of a people who might have been the ancient Hebrews. It is interesting that we accept Egyptian history, as written in stone, but not the Hebrew written history. This author, and others, are disputing this accepted dating of Egyptian royal dynastic rule. The author tells a purely historical biblical history leaving religious commentary out of it. I don't agree with all his story but a great part of it is very possible. The bible is a religious and historical writing but it is possible to separate the two. The possibility of this new time frame being correct would change present day archaeology dramatically and would likely confirm much of secular biblical history. Ancient history of a particular culture must be correct in order to say if another culture existed at the same time. Right now Egyptian dating is being used to judge as to whether the biblical history is true. This of course is a very dubious yard stick. Who says ancient Egyptian writings are 100% true? Many have been found to be for political & religious purposes and not necessarily true. This book is an eye opener and puts a big ? mark about current historical dating and what is true and false about ancient Israel !

Hmmm.
Format: Paperback
LOVED Pharaohs and Kings. Agree with New Chronology. But here, there is much to disagree with as he tries to explain away pre-flood events, he ties in Scripture with other local peoples ancient stories in ways that make God and His works look like a local god, little "g" - nothing to see here kind of god. The angel God places at the entrance to the Garden of Eden with a fiery sword a demon? The ark made out of reeds? Local flood, etc. I annotated the first half of this book to death, but after the flood, I annotated less and less as there was much more to agree with. I am open minded - I know there is archeological evidence as well as epigraphical evidence. But if it completely disagrees with Biblical text, it cannot work. I like Dave Rohl. You will probably get a lot out of most of the book, but he takes us completely down a different path than I expected pre-flood.

Format: Paperback
I have huge amounts of respect for this guy. He is so intelligent and really researches things, he is one of those people who sees what the average guy cant. This book is great and fascinating. cant put it down. I hate these books that are clearly not the truth but they just want to make money selling books...THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE... It is real info that is true history.

A Truly Epic History
Format: Paperback
This book was awesome and went through the history of the people of the bible from the very beginnings. It's a fascinating read using the new chronology, which is backed up with astronomical events and archaeology. It's not an easy read with all the information in it, but it is worth every minute spent reading it. I think anyone who is interested in Biblical history or archaeology would find this book very interesting.

Obvious deduction with roots in both new and old archeology.
Format: Paperback
The Iron Age seemed to have its beginning several hundred years earlier than has been officially declared. That was my assumption after researching for a historical fiction novel during 1750 B.C.E. period. I began the current research in January of 2013. I'm not a archeologist, have no desire to be one. I'm not related to any archeologists. But I respect the the discipline, scholarship and dedication required to be a good one. After a year of research discovery my girlfriend was well versed with my newly formed assumption about the chronology of these times verses the old school beliefs. Referencing some material in this vain of research I stumbled across Rohl's work. To my utter delight I find out there has been a N.C. movement growing for twenty years. Good work and plausible scenarios are laid out for pure intellectual amazement and entertainment for the imagination inside these pages. Buy it now. Enjoy Zak
