The PRO4200 Dual Reader Module from Honeywell’s Professional Series is engineered for high-density access control deployments where reliability, scalability, and seamless integration are non-negotiable. Designed to manage two doors with independent reader channels, this module delivers fast, secure entry control for large facilities such as corporate campuses, data centers, healthcare complexes, and education environments. When paired with the WIN-PAK integrated security suite, the PRO4200 expands beyond basic access to include powerful features like video integration, centralized management, and cohesive alarm and event handling. Built to withstand demanding environments, the PRO4200 provides a rugged, scalable foundation for expanding security without sacrificing performance or control. Whether you’re upgrading an existing system or building a new security backbone, this dual reader module keeps access tight, auditable, and easy to manage across dozens or hundreds of doors.

  • Dual reader channels for two doors: Each PRO4200 module supports two independent readers, enabling seamless control for two separate entry points. This configuration is ideal for campuses, office complexes, or facilities with multiple access points, allowing synchronized scheduling, credential management, and door status reporting without overloading the main controller.
  • Uniform integration with WIN-PAK: The PRO4200 is designed to integrate with Honeywell’s WIN-PAK integrated security suite, providing centralized management, real-time event monitoring, and streamlined credential provisioning. With WIN-PAK, you can tie access events to video, alarms, and other security workflows for a complete, auditable security ecosystem.
  • Flexible credential support and signaling: The module supports common credential technologies and standard Wiegand signaling, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of card readers and credential types. This flexibility makes it easier to upgrade existing installations or mix and match readers for different door requirements while maintaining consistent security policies.
  • High-density, scalable design: Engineered for large facilities, the PRO4200 helps maximize door coverage per controller footprint. Its modular approach simplifies expansion—add more PRO4200 units as your security footprint grows, without introducing complexity or performance bottlenecks.
  • Robust security features and reliability: Built with durable hardware and integration-ready security features, the PRO4200 emphasizes tamper resistance, fault detection, and reliable operation in challenging environments. Expect consistent door control, comprehensive logging, and resilient performance even under heavy traffic.

Technical Details of Honeywell PRO4200 Dual Reader Module

  • Overview: PRO4200 Dual Reader Module, part of the Honeywell Professional Series, designed for high-density access control with two door/reader channels.
  • Doors and Readers: Supports two doors with independent readers, enabling dual-entry configurations or per-door credential policies as required by the facility.
  • Interface and Signals: Provides standard reader interfaces (Wiegand-compatible) for two readers and supports integration signaling to the main access control panel. Ideal for integration within WIN-PAK or compatible Honeywell controllers.
  • Power and Consumption: Operates on common low-voltage power supplies (12–24 VDC). Designed for stable operation with typical current draw suitable for normal door operation and reader power requirements.
  • Environmental Tolerance: Built to perform reliably in varied environments, with a broad operating range and robust construction suitable for commercial facilities and secure spaces.
  • Mounting and Installation: Engineered for straightforward installation alongside other Honeywell security modules, with options for rack or panel mounting in compatible enclosures.
  • Security and Compliance: Designed to work within Honeywell’s security ecosystem, ensuring compatibility with WIN-PAK and related security components for centralized management, event logging, and policy enforcement.

How to install Honeywell PRO4200 Dual Reader Module

Install the PRO4200 by following these high-level steps to ensure a reliable, secure deployment. Always refer to your organization’s security policies and local code requirements during installation.

  • Plan and power down: Assess the location of the two doors to be served, determine reader placement, and ensure the system is powered down before disconnecting or connecting hardware.
  • Mount the module: Secure the PRO4200 in the appropriate enclosure or mounting surface. Ensure there is adequate clearance for cabling and that mounting is stable to prevent movement or vibration.
  • Connect readers and door devices: Run shielded reader cables to the two reader inputs on the PRO4200. Connect door-related devices such as strikes or door sensors as dictated by your door wiring scheme and access control policy.
  • Wire to the access controller: Connect the PRO4200 to the main access control panel or WIN-PAK controller using the appropriate signaling interface (Wiegand/RS-485 as supported). Verify that communication between the module and the control system is established.
  • Configure in WIN-PAK: Power up the system and use WIN-PAK to configure the two doors, set access rules, enrollment procedures, and any per-door scheduling. Associate credentials with users and assign door permissions as required by security policies.
  • Test and verify: Test each door independently, confirm reader responsiveness, monitor event logs, and verify proper operation of door hardware (locks, door sensors, alarm integration). Validate that video integration (if configured) triggers correctly on access events.

Entertaining, imformative, important and compassionate
Format: Hardcover
I bought this book thinking (1), it'll be easy to consume, (2) I'll learn something about Canadian culture, (3) it'll at some point shed a light on the environmental harms that oil drilling causes, and (4) there'll be a redeeming ending. I was right about (2) and (3). Easy to consume? Not as easy as I thought and whether or not the ending is redeeming, the author Beaton leaves to the reader to determine. It is autobiographical based on the author's experiences, and she does go on after her experiences to become a renowned author/cartoonist. However, one questions whether these experiences, that were part of her path to get there, justify the means, and there is no overarching message that wraps everything up neatly "in a bow". This book was even more important that I anticipated it to be and while it does speak to certain aspects of Canadian culture (mostly regional), the lessons can be applied beyond that context. My favorite aspects of the book were that it addressed difficult topics with humanity and compassion and even though this topics are intellectually and emotionally difficult, the medium is easier to consumer than perhaps other mediums. Highly recommend.

Compelling - Beautifully done
Format: Kindle
I was surprised how much I enjoyed reading this. Ms Beaton has done an amazing job of storytelling. So thankful for the recommendation from John Warner - The “BibliOracle” of the Chicago Tribune. Several male members of my family worked in the Tar Sands projects over the last 30 years - mostly on Oil Exploration and the crew management side. But rumors about the rough environment were confirmed in this book. Reading this explains why one important family marriage failed from the “Wild West” behavior that took place there. As Ms Beaton acknowledged, this work provided important income for those who worked the Tar Sands projects. My family included. But the harm to the First Nations People and the environment are just terribly, horribly sad.

A human story of how our society operates
Format: Kindle
There's a lot of terms you could use to describe the themes in this book. Capitalism, patriarchy, settler-colonialism, climate change but the book doesn't need to throw these terms around. It just shows them through the eyes of a person who experienced them. There's also a feeling of "there but by the grace of god go I" having been tempted by the possibility of oil work myself during the Great Recession. The story of how our drive for oil eats at our humanity is vital and helps show the cost of how we've structured our society at a personal level. At times funny, heartwarming, and tragic, a fantastically written and drawn work that I have to highly recommend!
