How to install EnGenius EWS7928P-FIT Ethernet Switch

Installing the EWS7928P-FIT is straightforward, and a well-planned deployment helps you maximize performance from day one. Follow these practical steps to ensure a smooth setup and reliable operation across your network:

  • Assess your environment and plan the topology: identify which devices will connect to PoE ports (such as cameras, wireless access points, and IP phones), decide on preferred VLANs, and determine QoS priorities for voice, video, and data traffic.
  • Choose a suitable location: place the switch in a well-ventilated area with adequate airflow, away from heat sources and moisture. A rack, cabinet, or sturdy shelf is ideal, provided cables can be managed neatly to avoid tangles and strain.
  • Power up and connect devices: connect the switch to a reliable power source and link it to your network core. Run Ethernet cables from network sockets to the switch ports, and on PoE-enabled ports, connect your PoE devices (cameras, APs, and phones) directly to simplify installation.
  • Access the management interface: from a computer on the same network, access the switch’s web-based management interface using the designated IP address. Log in with the initial credentials and immediately set a strong administrator password to protect access.
  • Configure core settings: establish a management IP, create and apply VLANs as planned, configure QoS rules to prioritize critical traffic (such as voice and video), and set up basic security measures (port security, ACLs, and user permissions). If available, configure PoE policies or scheduling to optimize power usage during off-hours.
  • Test and verify: perform connectivity checks across devices, confirm PoE devices power on correctly, validate VLAN segmentation and QoS behavior, and monitor port statistics to identify any issues. Keep firmware up to date to benefit from the latest features and security patches.
  • Document and maintain: record port assignments, IP addresses, VLAN mappings, and QoS configurations for future reference. Establish a routine to review performance metrics and perform firmware updates as part of regular maintenance.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fantastic writing and non-stop action
Format: Kindle
This is a promising, fantastic beginning to what will be a 4-book series. Some readers may be content to read only the first 2 books, but I think you'll find that the story is so good that you'll want to keep reading books 3 and 4. Book 1 is about omega Elvana's introduction to the "Starling" brothers and their search for another missing person, Kelly. It's a bit of a rocky start, with deception and betrayal a key element. Hardly an auspicious beginning. Each member has their own path and purpose in the pack. Their interactions and the resulting narrative are so well-written that I found it difficult to put down. There is a cliffhanger that will have you reaching for book 2 as you finish, so make sure you have it on hand.

Fun read
Format: Kindle
I'm not really into mafia books but I love Roxy Collin's other series so I decided to give it a try. It had the same great romance, spice, swoon-worthy characters and exciting plot that are her signature. Arben was my favorite, although it was a bit sudden how quickly he changed from ignoring her to wanting to be pack. There were almost too many twists/layers of lies to keep track of but I'm looking forward to reading the other books. The only thing that detracted from the story for me was the need for a bit more proofreading. It was mentioned that Kelly is a female and male at different points, leading me to think she changed her mind at some point about the character's gender but didn't go back and edit it to align in all places. Like another reviewer pointed out, step siblings are different than half siblings. They are incorrectly referred to as step siblings because they (allegedly) share the same biological dad. There are a few other typos as well but those aren't a big deal.
