Carburetors are inherently somewhat generic. This kit, however, is specifically designed and tuned for Yamaha XS650 motorcycles that don’t use the stock airbox. We’ve selected the proper slide, needle, and needle jet for XS650 applications. The carbs come jetted for immediate bolt-on installation. Included in the kit are several different main and pilot jets so you can fine-tune the carburetors to your application—this is helpful for those using performance air filters, exhaust systems, camshafts, or big bore kits. 

You’ll see many kits offered for sale—understanding the subtleties can help you select the right one. Many other kits use inexpensive two-stroke snowmobile carburetors and make them somewhat functional by sizing down the main jet only. We’ve found these make tuning the carburetors properly difficult if not impossible on some setups. 

Without the correct slide, needle, and needle jet for four-stroke applications, you’ll never extract maximum performance and crisp throttle response from your XS. We’ve taken the time to test these carbs on several of our personal bikes, figured out the correct internal parts necessary to make them perform best, and offered them for sale because we know they work.

Further, these TC Bros. kits contain proper right- and left-side carburetor bodies. This is important so the idle speed adjusting screws are on the outboard side of each carb for easy adjustment; inferior kits will often use the same body, making adjustment difficult.

Also included with this kit is a throttle cable compatible with the stock throttle housing or our 7/8” Throttle Assembly (P/N #101-0221).

We have had many, many requests for this kit over the years but waited to release it because of the time necessary to research and test the multitude of parts combinations. However, we think the wait was worth it—this kit contains what we feel are the very best carburetor components for the XS650 in one complete package.
