Introducing the Socket Mobile DuraScan D600, a rugged handheld reader/writer engineered for harsh environments and demanding workflows, yet refined enough to shine in boutique retail settings. Built to withstand the rigors of warehouses, distribution centers, and industrial manufacturing, the D600 delivers dependable contactless performance without sacrificing operator comfort or style. Its ergonomic design fits naturally in the hand, offering comfortable, extended use even during long shifts that involve rapid tapping of credentials, loyalty passes, or mobile wallet tokens.A matte black finish not only looks professional but also helps conceal wear and fingerprints, ensuring the device maintains a clean, premium appearance on the floor or at the counter. The DuraScan D600 is purpose-built for speed and reliability: a dedicated contactless reader/writer that can read and write to NFC-enabled cards and devices, enabling fast authentication, secure access, and streamlined customer interactions. In practice, this combination of rugged resilience and refined usability translates into tangible operational gains—faster checkouts, quicker onboarding, and smoother asset tracking—across inventory floors, loading docks, and retail environments alike. Whether deployed behind a warehouse desk, on a mobile cart, or at a premium retail checkout, the D600 blends toughness with everyday practicality, delivering consistent performance where it counts most.

  • Rugged, ergonomic design optimized for all-day use: The D600’s durable chassis and textured grip provide secure handling even when operators wear gloves or work in dusty, demanding conditions. Its balanced weight and compact form reduce fatigue during long scanning sessions, while the black finish hides wear and scuffs, keeping the device presenting a professional appearance over time. The result is a handheld that feels confident in the hand, supports rapid tapping, and minimizes hand strain as staff move between tasks—from receiving and put-away to packing, stocking, and checkout. This combination of resilience and comfort makes the D600 a dependable companion for frontline teams across warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing floors, and high-end retail counters.
  • Advanced contactless reader/writer for NFC and secure credentials: At the core of the D600 is a capable contactless engine designed to read and write to NFC-enabled cards and devices. Operators can simply tap badges, mobile wallets, or other contactless tokens to authenticate, grant access, or trigger a workflow without touching devices or swapping cards. In retail contexts, this enables seamless loyalty interactions, mobile passes, or digital coupons at the point of sale. In logistics, it accelerates employee credential checks and asset security by providing fast, touch-free interactions that keep lines moving. The result is a flexible solution that improves throughput while maintaining strong credentialing capabilities and security protocols across environments.
  • Seamless integration and broad compatibility with enterprise ecosystems: The D600 is designed to plug into a range of host devices and platforms. It supports wireless Bluetooth connectivity and wired USB connections, enabling quick pairing with Windows, Android, and iOS devices. This versatility makes it easy to deploy in multi-platform environments and across sites with varying IT requirements. The device is compatible with Socket’s software ecosystem and common NFC-enabled applications, allowing IT teams to push firmware updates, configure NFC settings, and monitor health remotely. Operators benefit from a consistent user experience whether they are working in a warehouse, at a showroom, or moving between storefronts, because the D600 can adapt to different workflows without demanding bespoke integration for every location.
  • Powerful reliability and extended use for busy shifts: Battery life and efficient power management are essential on the floor, and the D600 is designed to keep pace with continuous operation. Its power-conscious design supports all-day use, with thoughtful charging and standby behavior that minimizes downtime. The device is built to stay responsive under heavy workloads, maintaining quick tap-and-read responses even after hours of use. In practice, teams report fewer interruptions due to power concerns, enabling longer shifts with fewer charging breaks and improved daily throughput as a result. The sturdy construction also helps ensure dependable performance through frequent handling, drops, and environmental challenges common to industrial settings.
  • Versatile use cases across industries, from warehouse to boutique retail: The DuraScan D600 is well-suited for diverse applications, including loading dock validation, inventory management, and asset tracking in warehouses; quick identity verification and access control in manufacturing facilities; and premium service interactions at boutique retail counters. Its compact, professional appearance fits both rugged industrial spaces and high-end retail environments, making it easy to deploy without compromising brand image. By enabling fast, contactless interactions and reliable credential management, the D600 supports efficient workflows, improved customer experiences, and stronger security across your organization.

If you're a fan of the Simpsons' neighbor, this will certainly tickle your funnybone. Good old left-handed Ned tells and shows all, God bless him.

eh
Format: Paperback
IT's not bad at all but they're other "The Simpsons" comic books are way better. I really recommend "Belly Buster" or "Madness" from The Simpsons collection.

"I very nearly singed my bone!"--Melvin Van Horne
Format: Paperback
Another fun-packed issue of Simpsons Comics. This is the 15th issue I've bought and, with only a couple of exceptions, they are all as funny and entertaining as the television show. I've read them all multiple times. This issue is perfect for the Sideshow Mel fan because he is featured in a short that documents how and why he became Sideshow Mel and he is also the hero in another comic. Jimbo Jones fans will like the short about how he became a bully (he wasn't always one). Dr. Hibbert also has a short feature. Here's what this issue has to offer: "Simpson/Sideshow Sibling Smackdown": Cecil Terwilliger and Lisa have something in common--they can't escape from the shadows of their attention-grubbing older brothers. Can they find a rapport even as one is intent on destroying the other? "A Recipe for Disaster"--Marge needs a new dish for the church social pot luck and tries recipes written by "Springfieldian citizens of questionable character." "Homer's Run"--Bart becomes owner of a demanding falcoln ("I have to do everything for him. What a stupid bird") while Homer signs up for early retirement on the Hawaiian Island Garbagio--which looks (and smells) just like it sounds. "Secret Origin of Sideshow Mel"--The background story of how and why Melvin Van Horne became Krusty's sidekick (you won't believe what Mel's occupation was before he replaced Sideshow Bob). "Day of the Nerd"--Lisa finds out the truth about NASA's exploration of Mars. Meanwhile, the other geeks of Springfield compete in feats of nerdome to win the inheritance of the largest collector of TV/movie&comic book memorabilia. Interesting and unique but jumps around a lot. "Bummer Vacation"--Short about Bart's summer (his batting swing looks totally wrong) and then writing a report on it that Mrs. Krabbapal doesn't believe. "Laughter is the Worst Medicine"--Homer competes in a competitive eating contest, "The Gorge in the Gorge." As Krusty says, "Chewing is for losers! Once you swallow, it's the colon's problem." After eating the final hot dog, something goes horribly wrong. Meanwhile Krusty gets a real doctor's degree instead of an honorary one and sick people start lining up at his door. "Down Home Doctorin' Time with Doctor Julius Hibbert"--Short about Dr. Hibbert as a TV doctor forced to change the style of his show to get better ratings. Ends very abruptly. "The Permanent Record Room!"--Principal Skinner shares some stories (school stories, not war stories). (1) "Pranks But No Pranks"--Bart plays a joke on Groundskeeper Willie which has the janitor believing he's a superhero. (2) "And the Beatings Go On"--The origin of Jimbo Jones. No, he wasn't always a bully. (3) "Truant or False"--Lil' Homie gets hooked up with a young miscreant(who would grow up to become a prominent figure in Springfield). Homer thinks he's learned a valuable lesson from the breif time he spent with this rebelious kid, but perhaps it is the rebel who changes his ways. Sidenote: they wouldn't have had Noiseland Arcade if this comic was accurate. Homer's mother is in this comic and she left the family in 1969. "The Many Faces of Bob"--Sideshow Bob is released from prison but is hit by a Duff Beer truck on his way out and has to undergo plastic surgery. Bart and Lisa try to figure out who Bob could be posing as before he gets his revenge on Bart. "Homer vs. The Raccoon I & II"--I'm not sure why this was divided into two parts; it's just an 8-page short. Anyway, Homer tries to capture a raccoon that has been going through his trash.
