To celebrate it we created the Pavones necklace.  We start with the finest veg tanned leather from Wicket & Craig and a hand-made brass s-loop. After cutting the strap, we soak it in ocean water (Costa Rican, of course) and let it dry in the tropical sun.  We then simply oil it.  The ocean water adds texture as well as minerals that produce the unique look on the leather. After a month or two of wear, the leather will turn darker brown and the closure will develop a yummy patina.  The leather is thin (1.2mm) and incredibly strong.  Given the nature of its production, each is a little different and possibly not exactly as shown in the photo (but close!).

Entirely made by hand, here in North Texas (except the soaking part).
