To achieve the best results with your tan, follow these steps:

1. Avoid Water Contact During Development: Do not expose your skin to water while the tan is developing.
2. Shower After 1 Hour for Natural Tan: For a natural tan, shower after 1 hour of application.
3. Leave Longer for Deeper Tan: For a deeper, darker skin finish, leave the tan on for a longer period before showering.
4. Rinse with Lukewarm Water: When it's time to rinse, use lukewarm water and rinse for about a minute. Avoid using soap or scrubs during your first shower; only use them where necessary.
5. Color Development: Your tan will continue to develop over the next 24 hours after your first shower.
6. Regular Showering: You can resume regular showering between 8 to 16 hours after application for maintenance.
