The Cisco Gigabit Ethernet 1000 Base-T Mini-GBIC SFP Transceiver delivers true gigabit performance over standard copper cabling, transforming busy small business networks with fast, reliable connectivity. Built on the legacy of Linksys Business Series and now offered under Cisco Small Business Network Accessories, this MGBT1 module is a copper-based, plug-and-play SFP transceiver that slides into any compatible SFP port to unlock 1 Gbps speeds without the need for fiber upgrades. Ideal for edge and distribution layers in small-to-midsize networks, it enables rapid upgrades to bandwidth-hungry applications such as file servers, virtualization, cloud services, video conferencing, and high-volume data transfers. The transceiver supports 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-negotiation on copper media, allowing seamless interoperability with older devices while progressively migrating to gigabit performance. Cisco’s proven reliability means you gain predictable throughput and reduced downtime, with robust compatibility across Cisco SMB switches and routers that support SFP copper modules. Whether you’re modernizing an existing network or planning future expansion, this module provides a cost-effective, scalable path to higher capacity while preserving your current copper cabling, switches, and investment in your IT infrastructure.

  • Gigabit performance over copper with 1000BASE-T support, delivering up to 1 Gbps throughput on standard Cat5e/Cat6 cabling for fast file transfers, smooth backups, and responsive cloud services.
  • Copper RJ-45 interface and auto-negotiation ensure seamless integration with mixed-speed networks, enabling reliable operation with legacy 10/100 Mbps devices while incrementally upgrading to gigabit speeds.
  • Compact Mini-GBIC SFP form factor designed to fit a wide range of Cisco SMB switches and routers, enabling flexible deployment in dense racks and compact systems without sacrificing performance.
  • Backward compatibility and ease of integration as part of Cisco Small Business Network Accessories (legacy Linksys branding), guaranteeing broad support across compatible devices and ongoing interoperability with existing infrastructure.
  • Hot-plug ready and plug-and-play where supported by the host device, simplifying maintenance and reducing downtime during upgrades or replacements in busy office environments.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What is the Cisco Gigabit Ethernet 1000 Base-T Mini-GBIC SFP Transceiver used for?

A: It is a copper-based 1000BASE-T SFP transceiver that enables gigabit Ethernet connections over standard copper cables (Cat5e/6) by plugging into an SFP port on compatible Cisco SMB switches and routers.

  • Q: What speeds does this transceiver support?

A: The module supports 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-negotiation on copper media, with 1000BASE-T providing up to 1 Gbps throughput where the network path and devices support it.

  • Q: Is this transceiver compatible with Linksys/Cisco devices?

A: Yes. It originated from the Linksys Business Series and is sold today as part of Cisco Small Business Network Accessories, designed to work with Cisco SMB switches and routers that support SFP copper modules.

  • Q: Do I need fiber optics for gigabit connectivity?

A: No. This is a copper-based transceiver using an RJ-45 connector, intended for copper Ethernet networks. Fiber-based modules would use different standards (e.g., 1000BASE-SX/LX).

  • Q: Is the transceiver hot-swappable?

A: In many Cisco SMB devices, SFP modules are hot-swappable, allowing you to replace or upgrade without powering down the entire chassis. Always consult your device’s manual for exact hot-swap capabilities.

  • Q: How can I verify that the link is active after installation?

A: Check the port status in the switch/router management interface for an active 1 Gbps link, and observe the LED indicators on both the transceiver and the host device to confirm a healthy connection and duplex mode.

Fluffy and Nice Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
… this would have made 5 stars but for 2 reasons. A.) there were quite a few typos; misspelled words, missing quotations, “the his” mistakes, and various signs that maybe a proofread would do good. B.) the writing was quite textbook. Late blooming omega is struggling with her new self, finds a absurdly wealthy pack of alphas, every thing is almost insta-love but she resists, then decides to love herself and let everyone be happy. Rian was my favourite (obviously the author’s favourite too because he got the most page time) but I wish we could see more of his CEO side? He went to work maybe ONCE the entire time. Gray was supposed to be the “growly one” but he turned out to be puppy dog. Lucas was a genius brainiac doctor - but also super alpha with an aggressive hindbrain with a breeding k*nk?? And then there was no actual “breeding”?? Spice 3/5 - normally omegaverse books are super high on messy smut but this was tamer. Romance 3/5 - insta-love that was then resisted because of personal hangup’s Plot 2/5 - weird paced head hopping, showing the same scene from different POV’s that made me feel like it was 2 steps backward, 1 step forward. Humour 4/5 - there were a dozen lines that genuinely made me chuckle out loud Would have been five stars but the lack of proofreading and the predictable plot made me unable to get up to ADORED IT level - four stars is still and official ENJOYED IT, y’all. This isn’t a bad rating. The “Club Heat” has intriguing possibilities so I’m going to give the second one a shot.

Fantastic writing and non-stop action
Format: Kindle
This is a promising, fantastic beginning to what will be a 4-book series. Some readers may be content to read only the first 2 books, but I think you'll find that the story is so good that you'll want to keep reading books 3 and 4. Book 1 is about omega Elvana's introduction to the "Starling" brothers and their search for another missing person, Kelly. It's a bit of a rocky start, with deception and betrayal a key element. Hardly an auspicious beginning. Each member has their own path and purpose in the pack. Their interactions and the resulting narrative are so well-written that I found it difficult to put down. There is a cliffhanger that will have you reaching for book 2 as you finish, so make sure you have it on hand.

Fun read
Format: Kindle
I'm not really into mafia books but I love Roxy Collin's other series so I decided to give it a try. It had the same great romance, spice, swoon-worthy characters and exciting plot that are her signature. Arben was my favorite, although it was a bit sudden how quickly he changed from ignoring her to wanting to be pack. There were almost too many twists/layers of lies to keep track of but I'm looking forward to reading the other books. The only thing that detracted from the story for me was the need for a bit more proofreading. It was mentioned that Kelly is a female and male at different points, leading me to think she changed her mind at some point about the character's gender but didn't go back and edit it to align in all places. Like another reviewer pointed out, step siblings are different than half siblings. They are incorrectly referred to as step siblings because they (allegedly) share the same biological dad. There are a few other typos as well but those aren't a big deal.

Stepbrothers, Secrets, and Sizzling Heat
Format: Kindle
Twisted Lies by Roxy Collins is a wild ride through family secrets, amnesia, and a steamy stepbrother romance. When Kelly discovers her life is built on lies, she ends up tangled with three alpha stepbrothers and an assassin who once helped her through a heat. The tension? Off the charts! The heat is real, and the complications are messy in the best way. Full of twists, secrets, and fated mates? You'll be hooked from page one! Love omegaverse drama with a dash of taboo? This one's for you!

Good read
Format: Kindle
The book has some good twists and turns, but truthfully I was so confused on some things. It didn't have a good flow for me personally. Not sure if it's due to typos or using him/her wrongly, but I thought Kelly was both a guy and a girl. Actually I still don't know, and it made me incredibly frustrated. It would refer to Kelley as him or he, and then again in another part of the story as her she and sister. On to the next book, I hope there is some clarity and a smoother flow. This is a slow burn, and I just don't know how much I care for the Alphas yet. Idk if I recommend.
