how to install Cisco 40Gbase QSFP Optical Transceiver High Density Multi Lane 40G Module For Nexus And Catalyst Switches

  • Prepare the switch port: Power down the server or device according to your maintenance window or confirm hot-swappable operation if your hardware supports it. Ensure you have the correct transceiver variant (SR4, LR4, ER4, or copper DAC) for your network design.
  • Handle with care: Ground yourself and handle the module by its facia and edges to avoid touching connector surfaces or optics. Do not bend fiber cables sharply and avoid contamination on the ferrules.
  • Insert the module: Align the QSFP+ transceiver with the switch’s dedicated QSFP+ port and slide it in firmly until it seats with a gentle click. Do not apply excessive force. Ensure the module is fully seated to establish proper electrical and optical contact.
  • Connect the cabling: Attach the fiber or copper DAC cables to the transceiver according to your topology. Use the correct fiber type and connector, and confirm the cable polarity and lane mapping align with your intended uplink configuration.
  • Power on and verify: If the device was powered down for maintenance, power it back on and verify that the transceiver is recognized. Use the switch CLI or GUI to confirm link status, data rate, and lane utilization. Run basic connectivity tests and confirm error-free operation across all four lanes.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What networks is this Cisco QSFP module designed for? A: It is designed for high-density 40G Ethernet deployments across Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches, suitable for data centers, enterprise cores, distribution layers, and service provider fabrics. It supports multi-lane 40GBASE configurations to consolidate uplinks and inter-switch connections.
  • Q: Which configurations are available? A: The module family includes SR4 for short-reach multi-mode fiber, LR4 and ER4 for long-reach single-mode fiber, and copper DAC variants for cost-effective intra-rack connections. Each configuration targets different reach and cost profiles while preserving 40GBASE performance.
  • Q: Is the module hot-swappable? A: Yes. The QSFP+ package is designed for hot-swappable deployment on Cisco Nexus and Catalyst platforms, enabling maintenance and upgrades with minimal downtime when performed following standard procedures.
  • Q: Can I mix this module with non-Cisco transceivers? A: Interoperability is best when using Cisco-certified modules with Cisco devices and supported configurations. Mixing transceivers from different vendors can lead to compatibility issues, degraded performance, or failed link negotiation. For mission-critical deployments, use Cisco-endorsed modules with Cisco devices.

Excellent Product!!! Will purchase again!
Size: 2' x 3' (Natural), Color: Wolf Tipped
Instead of ordering a cover for reclining loveseats, I chose to drape one of these over the headrest on either end of our loveseat. Not only do they protect the leather, they also help to elevate our decor. The rugs were received in a very timely manner. They are super soft, & warming as we move into the winter months. We've had family & friends comment on how great they look. 2 of them have already ordered, & added them to their sofa/loveseat/recliner decor. Have an issue of them slipping, add some velcro in between the crook of the cushion & the back of the furniture piece. It doesn't show & will help to keep the rug in place; if your busy body.!

Perfect for sensory sensitive kids and for the pure beauty of it

After speaking over the phone with the seller, I was confident in this purchase for my SPD son. They do not use harsh chemicals or dyes in the process. It is from New Zealand and the only use in Vietnam is for shipping. My son hasn't been diagnosed yet for Autism but he is in the process. He is super sensitive to all things sensory and Amazon feedback isn't the place to give specific details on his condition but I will write that when he fist touched it- which was willingly- he smiled and asked to sleep on it. When he laid down on it and I covered him- he was calm and smiling. In the pic I provided he is calm and holding his door (his obsession is doors and windows). He even set his door down to hold the fur. For other mommies and papas with spd/autistic kids you know that willingly touching a new fabric and setting down an obsessive item is huge and super encouraging! I am so grateful to have such a quality item that is affordable for my special needs son. His older sister received one as well as is now pretending to be a sheep. Fun for everyone! The ONLY negative is that the brand/info sticker on the pelt was a pain to get off and pulled some of the felt - not damaging it but blemishing the unity -but if the skin is down it will not be noticeable. A super fun detail is that all of the fur is combed out but there were a few strands that were wavy and had a slight curl- I LOVED that. There was no odor at all which is great! I expected an animal smell which is better than chlorine or dioxin which is what competitors use in their process. There is no noticeable seam in the middle on the top where the two pelts are gathered. I am soooo satisfied!

On the fence? This is the sheepskin to get!
Size: 2' x 3' (Natural), Color: Wolf Tipped
I've been reading all the reviews for sheepskins on AMZ and felt this company was the one to go for and WOW did they deliver! The sheepskin came well wrapped but not vacuum packed and is even prettier in person than the pictures. It is super soft, fluffy and dense and mine measured 26" x 40". I absolutely love the wolf tipped colors: ivory, dark grey and a slight brownish hue. There is a slight odor but I don't find it offensive. It stayed put on my leather couch and sitting on it during a Netflix movie was heavenly warm and comfortable. I did not observe any shedding. Will definitely buy another wolf tipped one, once it becomes available as it is worth the money.
