Before Sam Amidon's acclaimed albums for Nonesuch Records and Bedroom Community, he'd released a few on his own. After a collection of traditional Irish instrumentals, Amidon (as samamidon) delivered his true "debut" But This Chicken Proved Falsehearted. Recorded in 2005 with longtime collaborator Thomas Bartlett (Mumford & Sons, Sufjan Stevens, The National, David Byrne), Vermont-born Amidon re-imagines traditional songs alongside covers as diverse as Mississippi John Hurt to Tears For Fears, and rearranges them into his own unique and mesmerizing compositions. Unavailable for years, original copies now sell for top dollar on the collectors market. Nearly a decade later, But This Chicken Proved Falsehearted finally receives the reissue it deserves.

Great pepper shaker

I really like this pepper shaker. It works great for me. It's easy to feel and the grind is good. I can get the different sizes of grinds. I like with my pepper and it's easy to clean. All I do is have to wipe the bottom down and make sure it doesn't get all caked up with it. The residue from peppercorns

I previously purchased a pair of these a few years ago and they worked wonderfully. No complaints. Unfortunately, my toddler broke one and I got a new one to replace it. The quality of the new one is not like the old. The height is different now and the lid doesn’t fit quite right. Not a big deal but the lids are no longer interchangeable as before which can be annoying. Also, the glass looks cheaply made and there’s now a seam down the side. (See picture. New on left). Basically, if you are buying one to replace an older model, just save yourself the headache and buy two new ones if it bothers you that there’s different heights and jars.

Pepper in Some Fun

This thing absolutely crushes and efficiently grinds any pepper just you want it. I was legit amazed the first time I cranked it. You won't regret cranking with me!
It hold a great amount of pepper, is incredibly easy to use, and feels like it's a quality build. I am very happy with this.

Decided for a manual one instead, because it is less finicky.
Works well, and can adjust the level of fineness.
Well made and not too heavy. Can hold a lot of pepper corn.

Looks nice. Doesn't work!

This thing is cheap trash. The inner ring keeps popping off into the food. If you don't keep it tight, while peppercorns come out. It's going right in the trash where it belongs!
