Gwen Donavan adores her beautiful and rebellious older sister, Izzy. But the Izzy who returns from the Delphi School for Girls is not the sister who left. Now she is Isolde: dull and complacent and—most shocking—eager to marry.
Gwen is determined to discover what happened to Izzy at Delphi, and the only solution she can conceive of is to cheat her way into the mysterious school. If she can see for herself what they did, maybe she can get her Izzy back.
But Delphi is far from the finishing school Gwen expects. Sinister shadows lurk in the hallways of the remote estate, and she is told to never leave her room after dark. More curious, though, are the thousands of books, each with the name of a girl on its spine. They line the walls from floor to ceiling, and the students are forbidden to read them.
Delphi says they’re reforming the girls, but when Gwen discovers a note left for her by her sister, she realizes that what is happening at the school is more terrifying than she could ever have imagined. There’s something dark at the center of Delphi, and somehow it’s tied to those books—and to the girls who are sent there. And if Gwen doesn’t confront what hides in the shadows, it won’t be just Izzy who’s lost forever.

Ouch!! Update: Mold inside?
Update: I reduced my three star review to one star due to finding black specs all over lid inside my second jar with some black specks on the top pads. Mold? Mildew? I don't know have mold in my cabinets and I keep this in my top vanity drawer which is on its own wall nowhere near the tub or shower. I was so disgusted I threw out the whole jar plus my third one. I hate to write a bad review on a product that is such a good value and so needed in this market. Maybe it's just a one-off but either way I will not be repurchasing due to the soapy, stinging pads - mold or no mold. My conscience is telling me to warn people.

They sting like there is micellar water in them? Plus soap. They are very sudsy and make you feel like you have to rinse your eyes before they dry out, which defeats the purpose. They do work well to get mascara off but so does soap. Sadly will not replace the old Almay oil-free remover pads which I have used for years. Have not found a good replacement for my dry, sensitive eyes. I will have to use them on other parts of my face but not my eyes.

My last batch has changed - be aware!
I have used these pads for several years now. They are generally very good and do the trick. I don't even look at other products because they are so good.
However, in this last order, they no longer have a smooth side and a bumpy side. They always had the different texture which helped in using them. I agree they are a little small which I have gotten used to, but now with both sides being smooth, they are much harder to use to wipe. Plus you don't have the advantage of the texture. This is a dowgrade for sure.

Oil and fragrance free for sensitive skin
Oil free which is good for contact lens wearers. Relatively thick textured material so I can use just one pad for both eyes. Ok for sensitive skin with no fragrance. I've used these for years and the quality has remained consistent despite the reasonable price.

A 5-star product is now barely 2-stars. Shame!
I have used these makeup remover pads for years as I wear contacts and have sensitive skin around my eyes. However, the last 3-pack I ordered (Feb 2026), the pad is noticeably sub-par. They are much thinner, there is no quilted texture on one side, and they roll up immediately when you start to rub your eyes with them. In addition, I have to use 4-5 pads to get everything off vs. previously I could easily just use one on each eye. Obviously I will go through them much faster and every time I use them, I get frustrated by how bad the quality is now. Another product victim to shrinkflation and using cheaper materials, but charging the same amount or more than before.
Do they do the job removing the makeup - yes.
Do they do so without burning my eyes or leaving an oily residue - yes.
But knowing how great they used to be, I can only give the current product 2 stars.

Excellent product!
I have used this product for years but since retired much less. However when I actually needed it again I couldn't find it anywhere and when I did buying just one was pretty expensive. So I decided to wait until the price dropped...but it never happened. I never even thought of trying Amazon but I did and got an amazing deal of a 3 pack at a very reasonable price. The oil is rich, soothing and so emollient and cleans my brows and eye lashes perfectly! I keep one in my fridge which is especially soothing during warm summer days and helps to reduce under eye puffiness. Accolades to Amazon...you never let me down!
