How to install Wisenet 18 Port PoE+ Network Switch

  • Plan your network layout and determine the placement of the switch in relation to your core network and PoE devices. Ensure there is access to a suitable power source and, if mounting, the appropriate rack or shelf space.
  • Unbox the switch and verify all included components. Place the device on a stable surface or rack, and connect it to a reliable power supply.
  • Connect PoE devices (cameras, phones, access points) to the 18 PoE+ ports. Distribute loads across ports to stay within the 250 W PoE budget. Avoid overloading any single port by checking device power requirements.
  • Connect uplinks to your core network using the two 1000Base-X SFP slots. If you have SFP transceivers or direct fiber runs, insert compatible modules and fiber cables as needed to achieve the desired link distance and performance.
  • Power up the switch and verify link status on each port. Check the SFP uplinks for a solid connection and ensure PoE devices are receiving power. If your network requires segmentation, plan VLANs and basic port assignments according to your network policy.
  • Perform basic connectivity tests by pinging devices across the LAN and verifying video streams or voice services operate correctly. Monitor PoE budgets during peak load and adjust device placement if necessary to maintain performance.
  • Document your configuration and keep a record of port assignments, uplinks, and PoE budget usage for future maintenance and troubleshooting.

Flat Plug = Game Changer
Size: 6 Ft(2 prong plug), Color: Black
This is exactly what I needed to clean up my space. The flat plug sits flush against the wall, the long cord gives flexibility, and having multiple outlets + USB ports keeps everything in one place without the mess. It’s a 3 to 2 plug for homes that the electrical hasn’t been updated to 3 prong plugs. It feels solid, not cheap, and the surge protection adds that extra peace of mind. Perfect for a clean, organized setup that actually works.

Useable and pleasant looking
Size: 6 Ft, Color: Black
There's probably not a lot you can say about power strips because they all just do what they're supposed to do. However I needed something that would give me more power Outlets in the small bathroom sink counter space than I had. I tried several of the ones that I had but they either turned out too bulky, thick cords or just too intrusive for what I needed. That's when I came across this little gem. It comes with six Outlets, three USB inserts, and a smaller less thick power cord, and the end has a 30 degree flat angle so that it lays flat against the wall when plugged in instead of sticking straight out like most cords. Most importantly to me was it fit snuggly behind the sink faucet and tightly against the wall. All and all it made the entire application look as built in as possible. I know this seems as if a lot to say about a simple power strip but I've seem other bathroom counter sink tops cluttered with all sorts of electrical devices vying for their own plug in space and I don't need to tell you what that looks like. This is just a simple little power strip that was able to turn a messy looking counter top into a lot less intrusive looking mess.
