The 1948 Heisman Trophy winner, Walker was a three time All American, five time Pro Bowler, the 1950 NFL Rookie of the year and led the Detroit Lions to back to back NFL Championships in 1952 and 1953. Walker was so great in college that the NCAA would name the yearly award for the nation's top running back; the Doak Walker Award.
