A graphic novel exploring the right to protest, told by people who raised their voices and demanded to be heard“It’s about what ordinary people do, because what we do . . . is quite extraordinary.”Protest matters, and never more so than today—and yet our rights around dissent have been eroded in law. Noisy Valley is a beautifully illustrated work of graphic nonfiction exploring the importance of protest and what it can achieve, through the voices of one vibrant community. In every neighborhood, there are the activists, the ones who raise their voices. Myfanwy Tristram visited the Rhondda Valley in South Wales, inviting local people to recount their memories of the times they’d refused to take things lying down. The Noisy Valley is the result: a graphic retelling of protests both past and present. The area is best known for the miners’ strikes of the ’80s, (and their support from the LGBT movement as documented in the film Pride) but the spirit of dissent runs deeply whenever there is injustice. These stories tell how communities and individuals pushed back on a landfill site that poisoned local streams, a waste-processing plant that destroyed an area of natural beauty, sexism in the workplace and the closure of the local hospital. We dip into the historic Aldermaston marches and the Greenham women’s peace camp, too. The Noisy Valley is a testament to protestors who—whatever the changes in the law—have believed in their power to get things changed.Shipping Notes

Great Summer Look & Very Comfortable Fit Perfect Vacation Shirt for Tall Guys
Color: Khaki, Size: Large
I am very pleased with the quality of this shirt. The material is incredibly soft and has a nice weight to it, making it feel durable yet breathable. It features a moisture-wicking property that makes it a clean-looking, essential summer shirt, especially for those warmer days here in Utah. I really like the tan color; it looks great and pairs easily with a pair of jeans, nice shorts, or even flip-flops and sandals.
At 6'5" and 260 lbs, finding a shirt that fits my height can be tricky, but the size fits me pretty good and the fit is actually better than some other extra-larges I have tried. Even with a little bit of a belly, it is very flattering and the soft material feels great against the skin. It is slightly shorter than some other XL shirts, but it still works well for my frame. We are heading out on a cruise this week, and this is definitely going to be my go-to shirt for checking out the ship and staying comfortable in the sun.
The washability is another high-quality factor—I always wash things before wearing them, and this one didn't shrink much at all. Everything from the color to the texture stayed perfect right out of the wash. Overall, I hope you enjoy this shirt as much as I did because it really is a well-made and good-looking product!
