In today’s data-driven enterprise environments, having a reliable, scalable, and cost-effective backup and archival solution is essential. The Quantum TC-L33CN-EY-B LTO Ultrium 3 Tape Drive is engineered to meet these demands with a combination of speed, capacity, and compatibility that makes it an ideal choice for data centers, enterprise libraries, and IT environments that require robust offsite protection and long-term retention. This half-height (HH) tape drive delivers a strong balance of performance and versatility, enabling organizations to optimize their backup windows, reduce downtime, and securely store critical information. With a streamlined form factor and flexible interface options, the Quantum LTO Ultrium 3 drive integrates seamlessly into existing infrastructure, helping you safeguard your data with a proven, industry-standard technology.

  • Fast native transfer rate and generous capacity. The LTO Ultrium 3 drive delivers a native data transfer rate of up to 245 GB per hour, which translates to substantial throughput for nightly backups and large data sets. Its native capacity reaches up to 400 GB per cartridge, providing ample room for safeguarding multiple backup cycles and archived content without frequent media changes. For environments that employ data compression, you can realize significantly higher effective capacity (2:1 compression is typical for many data types), enabling more efficient storage usage while maintaining performance.
  • Flexible half-height form factor for easy deployment. The half-height (HH) design fits into standard server bays and library slots, reducing the footprint in crowded data centers. This compact form factor simplifies installation, cable management, and future upgrades, making it an appealing option for facilities that require scalable storage without requiring major chassis alterations.
  • Interface versatility for seamless integration. With options for SCSI or SAS interfaces, the Quantum LTO Ultrium 3 drive can be connected to a wide range of host adapters and server architectures. The flexibility of these interfaces enables straightforward integration into existing backup pipelines, tape libraries, and enterprise-grade storage enclosures, helping you maintain consistent performance across your infrastructure.
  • Proven reliability for enterprise environments. Built for continuous operation in demanding data-center contexts, this drive emphasizes durability and dependable media management. Quantum’s LTO technology is designed to support long-term retention, fast recovery, and consistent performance across multiple backup cycles, making it suitable for organizations with strict recovery point objectives (RPOs) and recovery time objectives (RTOs).
  • Ideal for backups, archiving, and regulatory compliance. The LTO Ultrium 3 drive is a well-established choice for organizations that need reliable media-based protection with long shelf life. It supports standard LTO media and integrates with common backup software suites and tape libraries, enabling compliant, repeatable workflows and straightforward data recovery when needed.

How to install Quantum TC-L33CN-EY-B LTO Ultrium 3 Tape Drive

Installing a half-height LTO Ultrium 3 drive in your data center or backup library is a straightforward process when you follow proper planning and safety steps. Before you begin, verify that your host system or library chassis supports LTO-3 drives and that you have the appropriate interface (SCSI or SAS) and cabling available. Ensure you have an uninterrupted power supply and proper grounding to minimize the risk of electrostatic discharge during installation. Gather the necessary mounting hardware and consult your chassis or library documentation to determine the correct slot size and spacing for a half-height drive.

Step 1: Power down and prepare the host system or library. Save your work, properly shut down connected servers if required by your environment, and disconnect power to the chassis. Step 2: Install the drive into a compatible bay. Slide the Quantum LTO Ultrium 3 drive into the designated half-height slot, using the appropriate screws or mounting hardware to secure it firmly. Step 3: Connect the interface cable. Attach the SCSI or SAS cable to the drive’s interface port and connect the other end to a compatible host bus adapter (HBA) or library controller. Ensure connections are snug and routed to avoid interference with fans or other components. Step 4: Power up and configure. Restore power, enter the host or library management interface, and verify that the drive appears in the device list. If needed, install or update drivers and firmware as recommended by your backup software or library vendor. Step 5: Run a basic health check. Use your backup software or the drive’s built-in diagnostics to perform a quick read/write test with a fresh LTO-3 cartridge. Validate that the drive can load, transport, and read data from a test tape, and confirm that the library or server recognizes the drive correctly. Step 6: Calibrate and set job parameters. If your environment uses a backup library, configure drive pools, media management rules, and retention policies to align with your data protection strategy. Finally, document the installation for future maintenance and audits, including cabling diagrams, bay numbers, and firmware revision levels.

Tips for optimal performance during installation: maintain proper airflow around the drive to prevent overheating, avoid physical shocks during tape movement, and use high-quality, correct-grade media to ensure consistent data integrity. Regularly monitor drive health through your backup software’s dashboards and the library’s management tools to catch potential issues early and minimize downtime. Following these practices will help you maximize the lifespan of your LTO Ultrium 3 drive and maintain reliable data protection across backup cycles and archival runs.

PRICE DOUBLED IN 2 WEEKS
Size: 18 Count (Pack of 1), Size: 18 Count (Pack of 1)
I rescue standard poodles mostly. I also train service dogs. My pack of "poodles" has all sizes and ages. This is not for profit , it is to save lives. Until 2 weeks ago -date now is: 08/17/2022- the price of these were around 20.00. My dogs all loved them. I have a buffet table with lots of storage I use to store the treats and it has room on top for all the treat jars. In the afternoon or evening, they'd get a hard, chewy treat like ears. Standard poodles love to chew . They could finish off one of the ears in minutes. These treats are quiet large and thin. They do smell but they are natural foods. NO WAY can I afford over 40.00 for 18 ears. Did pigs go exttict? Did they quit growing ears? How could They raise the price to cost double the amount? I looked at other ears on Amazon & the other brand i get which starts with a p- has not gone up. Paws- clipping. They have some Bizarre names so guess I'll just double my order for them. I have way too many dogs to give treats to. I want to be fair to all of them. They are my kids & will get the best I can offer. I did wait a few weeks before writting this. I also dropped my Sub & Save with this.
