By: Ellen SchwartzIt is 1947 and Yankee fever grips the Bronx. Nine-year-old Joey Sexton joins the neighborhood kids who flock to the park to team up and play. However, Joey is of mixed race and his skin is lighter than the other kids’. He is seldom picked.
When Joey’s mother dies, he is sent to live with his mother’s estranged family. Joey is whisked away to Brooklyn. Though it’s just across town, it might as well be a different world. His grandfather, his aunt Frieda, and his ten-year-old cousin Roberta are not only white, they are Jewish. Joey knows nothing about Brooklyn or Judaism. The only thing that’s constant is the baseball madness that grips the community. Only this time, the heroes aren’t Joey’s beloved Yankees. They are the Brooklyn Dodgers, especially Jackie Robinson, a man whose struggle to integrate baseball helped set the stage for black America’s struggle for acceptance and civil rights.
Joey’s story takes readers to a time when America’s favorite pastime became a battleground for human rights.

Perfect Size - No Squeakers (yay)
Color: Pink, Size: MINI 1.75" - 4 Pack
My 9 lb. Chi-Mix adores her little toy balls. Perfect for her small size (or a medium dog) and full of bounce. I didn't want squeakers because I knew it would drive me nuts. No squeakers in these balls. Perfect training tool to teach fetch. Perfect toys to have play time with your pooch.

Nice and bright
Color: Orange, Size: MINI 1.75" - 4 Pack
These are great to fit the ball shooter I use with my dogs. Color orange makes it easy to find in grass or dirt. Problem is I have a chewer. He loves to chew on the ball and eat the orange fiber. So, the balls get wrecked and I have to replace. Gets costly. I wish they made this same size ball without the orange furry tennis-ball like covering. Maybe the toys would last longer.

Safe for dogs
Color: Green, Size: Regular 2.5" - 4 Pack
Much better for dogs than used/dirty tennis balls. Worth the money for safety.

Easily breakable coating/fur
Color: Pink, Size: MINI 1.75" - 4 Pack
I wanted to love this item but sadly my dog really messed up the coating/fur on these balls so easily, other than that great product but with her being a puppy I got these smaller ones for that reason and I’m absolutely scared of her destroying things and getting stomach issues, so it’s just not worth it to me.

Perfect size
Color: Orange, Size: MINI 1.75" - 4 Pack
These were the perfect size for my ball chasing kittens. they love scuffing up the balls and carrying them around the house or bringing them to me to play fetch. Yes, my cats love to play fetch.
