Rose quartz is appears translucent and hazy due to microscopic fibrous inclusions of a pink borosilicate mineral related to dumortierite. Rose Quartz also known as Quarzo rosa is found in two varieties. Most rose quartz is found in large masses made up of made of inter-grown anhedral crystals. A rarer variety is found as well-formed crystals. The second variety are often found growing over smoky quartz in groups of parallel-grown crystals. Rose quartz can be very sensitive to light and heat.
