The 10 inch swing on this oversized Dubber is capable of spinning up 20 + inch fibers to make Dubbing Brushes far beyond your wildest dreams! The Short throw in the bed gives you ample length to create about 5 flies per Brush without tangling.
In my testing of various sized prototypes I discovered a Brush about 10 inches in length is about all the hair that can be handled without impossible frustration. I also discovered it only takes about 5 wraps of these Ultra Long Fibered Brushes to create perfect Hollow tied flies using a total of about 20 wraps of various length fibers with the longest fibers shrouding the rest of the fly.
It doesn't take much time to tie a Hollow fly once you have the Brushes spun up, after several months of tying this style I found I could make a 9 to 15 inch standard single shanked Hollow fly on a 6/0 hook in less than 20 minutes!
This is definitely a Specialty Machine, not intended for normal use, but if you're one of those crazy Musky Fly Anglers like me obsessed with really large flies, then this just might be exactly what you're looking for to make even larger monster flies!
