2019 release. Back in 1987 Momus was in a London studio finishing The Poison Boyfriend, his debut album for Creation Records. Band of Holy Joy had a session the next day, so the 27 year-old Scot left a note wishing his friends well and adding: "You've got real accordions - I just use the horrible pre-programmed one in the DX7!" Thirty-two years later, now living in Berlin after a long spell in Japan, Momus finally purchased a real accordion from a junk shop on a street once split by the wall. Momus quickly discovered it's wide dynamic range, it's ability to stab, sob and wheeze and the ease with which chords could be pumped out using the buttons ranged down the lefthand side. Songs played on the new instrument (mixed in with sounds from the latest iPad apps) had a pleasing tendency to sound like Eisler's collaborations with Brecht during the late Weimar Republic years. Momus decided to make an album called Akkordion (the title mixes the German and English spellings) and drummed up sixteen new songs during the spookily hot summer. Many of them sound like garish clown music, political cabaret, surreal satire or radical vaudeville, with echoes of the accordion artists Momus knew in the neo-cabaret scene of 1980s London: The Pogues, Les Negresses Vertes, The Tiger Lillies, even solo Marc Almond and Nick Cave. What defines Akkordion is this tension between the light and dark: the bittersweet contrast between personal fulfilment and a political world dominated by division, toxicity and - let's face it - actual fascism. Like little Oskar Matzerath in The Tin Drum this accordion sends a scream through a world marred by disaccord.

Best mat purchase yet
Color: Pink
I love this mat. I wish they had it in larger sizes. The only one I have truly non slip. Extremely comfortable especially on my back. Great price.

Great workout mat
Color: Green
It’s very thick and soft so it makes exercising a lot easier. It rolls easily ready to store. And it seems very durable. It is also flexible for certain exercises for balance.

Very sturdy. Great Quality
Color: Navy Blue
This is a very dense, thick mat. It's great if you have bad knees or just need/want a thicker mat. The carrying strap with velcro closures is easy to use.

Great cushioning, easy storage
Color: Blue
I am so happy I bought this. I do back stretches, and need to be on the floor.. Getting up & down is hard at 77, and carpets are hard. This helps sooo much! I don’t hurt my knees when getting down or getting up. The mat is comfortable and provides plenty of padding. It is easy to roll up and store with the included strap. I am tall, and there is extra length, so my head and feet are on the mat. This was a good purchase! This has not torn, and wipes down easily. It doesn’t attract dog hair, which is another reason I wanted a mat.

Love my mat!
Color: Pink, Style: 1/2 Inch
I’m new to stretching and recovery classes, and there is a lot of floor work. I was using the gym mats, but my knees, lower back, and glutes were hurting from being on the floor. This mat is the perfect thickness and feels wonderful during floor exercises. It gives me the extra cushion I need without being difficult to use. It’s also lightweight, durable, easy to clean, and easy to roll up for transport. The pink makes me smile. That said , the mat makes the classes more enjoyable.
