This design eliminates power loss and increases energy efficiency, making it twice as effective. The reeflexUV+e is compatible with other products in the EHEIM Digital family and can be managed through WLAN-enabled devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.). You can choose various modes, set timers and pauses, and even activate a booster mode during severe parasite outbreaks. In a UV clarifier (also known as a UV sterilizer), aquarium water is passed in a thin layer over a UV-C lamp (bulb). The UV-C rays penetrate the water, eliminating germs, algae spores, and other minute organisms.

Traditional technology irradiates water from only one side. In contrast, EHEIM has integrated a reflector that allows the radiation to be reflected and penetrate the water from multiple angles. This results in significantly higher efficiency with the reeflexUV+e, utilizing the patented EHEIM reflector technology.

Furthermore, the EHEIM reeflexUV+e has a straightforward water conduction system. The water flows smoothly around the bulb without any diversions, ensuring there is no loss of performance.

The AUTO-OFF feature also guarantees maximum safety. Because UV-C radiation is harmful to skin and eyes, the reeflexUV+e automatically shuts off when the unit is opened.

In comparison to natural waters, the bacterial concentration in aquariums is relatively high due to the smaller volume of water. It is essential to lower this concentration to a more natural level. However, aquarium water cannot and should not be entirely germ-free.

The UV clarifier captures only free-floating germs in the water. The bound purification bacteria in the filter (biological filtration), bacteria in the substrate, and so on, are not affected.

Cloudiness in the water caused by bacteria or floating algae can be effectively cleared through UV clarification. Essentially, algae growth is curtailed as the spores are eliminated.

UV clarifiers generally promote healthier fish by reducing the risk of infection. They are particularly recommended for breeding tanks, as harmful pathogens often attach to eggs or infect young fish that lack sufficient defenses.
