  • Handcrafted by local artisan, Alan Winick, this tide clock has the image of Portsmouth Harbor Light and the harbor tide that rises and falls as the actual tide in your location goes from high to low.
    • Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located within Fort Constitution in New Castle, New Hampshire (USA).
    • The station was established in 1771 and was the 10th of 11 light stations established prior to the American Revolution.
    • The first tower was a shingled wooden structure with an iron lantern and copper roof. Its light source was three copper oil lamps.
    • The first tower was replaced in 1804 by an 80-foot (24 m) octagonal wooden tower approximately 100 yards (91 m) east of the 1771 tower.
    • In 1851, twenty years after the establishment of Whaleback Lighthouse, the tower was shortened to 55 feet (17 m). Three years later, in 1854, the tower was fitted with a Fourth (4th) Order Fresnel lens.
    • In 1878, a new 48-foot (15 m) cast-iron, brick-lined lighthouse tower was erected on the same foundation as the 1804 tower.
    • When the new tower was completed, the surrounding remains of the 1804 tower were removed.
    • The current light is a fixed green signal that is visible for 12 nautical miles (22 km; 14 mi). The light is made green by an acrylic cylinder that surrounds the lens.
    • Other structures at the light station that are still standing are the 1903 oil house (restored in 2004) and the 1872 keeper's house (currently United States Coast Guard offices).
  • Tide clock has a blue wood frame with dual faced clock.
  • Bottom of clock provides the traditional tide clock showing current tide. Dial provides hours to high tide and to low tide.
  • Top of clock is what makes this time piece truly unique.  A mechanically animated display of the waterline of Long Island Sound rises and falls as the tide goes from high to low.
  • Clock measures 11-in H x 6-1/2-in W x 2-in D
  • Can be displayed free standing or on a wall.
  • Construction: Wood frame, plastic, paper and metal housing.
  • Uses one AA battery - not included.
  • Ships in a gift box with instructions.
  • Artisan limited warranty: 3 years

Fast Chew
Size: Medium
Didn’t last as long as I expected. My Frenchie chewed through it in record time. I will purchase another one to see if it’s the same as the one I received.

Great for chewers
Size: Large
I have bought these for the dogs (GSD/Husky/Golden) 4 mon-7yrs. All 4 dogs enjoy them and keeps the 2 puppies from chewing things they should not. Definitely worth the money for how long they have lasted as well. Have already ordered more.

Not as safe as it seems
Size: Xtra Large
I did like the look and sound of the all natural wood and coconut rope. However after 15 minutes of giving it to my dog there were rope fibers everywhere. Even though my research said coconut rope was ok for dogs in small amounts; my dog started throwing up. My cat also managed to get ahold of some of the strings and ended up choking. Even when I took the rope off and gave just the coffee wood stick; after just a few minutes of play my dog began coughing. This is just the experience that I had. All dogs are different. Just please don’t let your best friend play with it unsupervised

Do research
Size: Small
My pups love to shred things. This was a good toy for them to satisfy their need to shred things. My dogs are on the smaller side and I went with a small. I do encourage people to do their research and not leave this toy unsupervised. If your dog eats toys they shred this might not be a good toy for you. Coconut fiber can become impacted if too much is consumed. Unlike other reviewers I didn’t notice to much of a mess outside any other toy a dog might shred.

Not Suitable for Power Chewers
Size: Large
Coconut fiber toys aren’t ideal for heavy chewers. They shred easily, can be swallowed, and may cause choking or intestinal blockages. The coffee wood is a safe durable product and loved but my dogs. I wish I would have done more research before buying the coconut fibers chew.
