Incorporating a flexible design that allows it to used as a rackmounted, tabletop, or Eurorack synth, the Aira SYSTEM-1m Semi-Modular PLUG-OUT Synthesizer from Roland can function as a standalone instrument, provide CV/Gate signals for other synths and effects, and employs Roland's PLUG-OUT technology that allow you to use it to control DAW-based software synths or install classic synth emulations directly into it.

The synth features 2 oscillators, with 6 waveforms each. A sync-able LFO allows you to create time-based wobbles and other effects, while further sound-shaping control is provided via the pitch, filter, amp, and EFX sections. Eurorack screws, along with a Eurorack power cable are included, along with a standard AC power cable, rackmount adapters, and 3 patch cables.

Modular for the Masses
Modular synthesizers can make unique and interesting sounds, but they can demand a real investment of both time and money to create a fully functional instrument. The SYSTEM-1m is designed to take the guesswork out of getting into modular, offering a variety of sounds and the freedom to experiment right out of the box. The fully self-contained module can be placed in a rack or on a table and can be powered by a standard AC adaptor. And it can be played from any standard MIDI keyboard or receive MIDI messages from your DAW - just like you'd expect

With fully-lit, color coded patch points, you can experiment with reconfiguring its architecture and easily connect to a wide world of available synthesizer modules. In addition to functioning as a rackmount or tabletop unit, the SYSTEM-1m can be mounted in a standard Eurorack case and can be powered via integrated case power with the included adapter cable. Its versatile synth architecture integrates with existing modular setups - or it can be the heart of a burgeoning modular synthesizer rig
PLUG-OUT Capable
The SYSTEM-1m is based on Roland's more than 40 years of experience in designing synthesizers. It's capable of a wide range of synth tones, from glistening arps to thunderous basses. But Roland is also known for their lineage of iconic vintage instruments. These include a long list of classic synths renowned for their identifiable character and genre-defining tone. And this is why they developed PLUG-OUT technology

PLUG-OUT synthesizers use Roland's Analog Circuit Behavior technology to replicate some of their most revered classics. They work like regular VST or AU compatible plug-ins in a DAW, with the SYSTEM-1m's array of high-resolution knobs and sliders creating a one-to-one control surface that works seamlessly. But you can also load PLUG-OUT synths directly into the SYSTEM-1m and switch between the internal synthesizer architecture and one of a growing number of PLUG-OUT Roland classics, like the SH-101, SH-2 and PROMARS - with no computer required
Range of Sounds
While it provides plenty of synthesis power on its own, interconnecting the SYSTEM-1m with other modular gear creates a vast range of sonic possibilities. Its impressive oscillator section, sweet filters and snappy envelopes are sure to be welcome in any modular setup, no matter how big or small. But it's the SYSTEM-1m's combination of CV/Gate modularity, PLUG-OUT, and DAW integration that takes things further

For example, load the SH-101 PLUG-OUT into the SYSTEM-1m and you essentially have a hardware SH-101 with modular capabilities - something that has never existed before. You can process external sources through the SH-101's filters, or load the SH-2 PLUG-OUT and use its oscillator section to drive any number of available Eurorack filters and envelopes

Good contruction but needs a couple revisions

Searching for an interactive toy to feed my beagle his meals from, I first tried the . It split open too easily in rough play and only had the capacity to hold half of a meal. Next I tried for it's larger capacity but it broke at the lid (to Premier's credit they replaced it but I feared it would simply break again). Now on to the Bob-A-Lot. This is a heavy, well made product. I was surprised by the weight. My dog can pick it up but can't carry it for very long. I feel it's not going to break like the others did. That said, the extra weight makes it a noisy toy especially on hard wood floors. The small Bob-A-Lot holds a little over 1 cup of food (large holds 3 cups) but there is a caveat. This is the capacity of the lower chamber. There is actually a separate chamber in the top of the toy that only holds about quarter cup. As a result I have to shake and shake the toy myself to get the food to drop into the lower chamber to load in a complete meal. It's either that or insert food 1 piece of kibble at a time. I wish this toy screwed apart like the IQ Treat Ball or Tug-A-Jug. Despite it's appearance, it does NOT screw apart in the middle. Also slightly annoying is the bottom door doesn't stay fixed into position well. The IQ Treat Ball smartly has several positions for the door to stay locked in. The Bob-A-Lot door is fully adjustable but has often come open more than I want during feeding. As a result the kibble will spill out faster which ruins the challenge. I inquired to Starmark support and they suggested that I use a bit of cardboard or some such to try and jam the door into a specific position. This right here tells me that some additional design could be used. I'd say that the Bob-A-Lot was designed with dogs in mind but not humans. It's a chore to load in the food. And then the door opens too much giving the dog an easy meal. I might even guess that it takes less time for my dog to empty it than it takes for me to fill it. Overall it's the best option I've found but I'm still searching for the perfect combination of all 3 of the toys.

Aggressive chewer approved
Size: Large, Number of Items: 1, Size: Large, Number of Items: 1
Got this to help amuse my 90lb GSD while I was out of town for a month. He gets one meal a day in it, and really enjoys the work. It’s easy, not a puzzle, no frustration, just a “job.” He chewed on the yellow top pretty aggressively while I was gone, and it still works fine. This is a dog that destroys even the most durable chew toys in minutes to hours when he’s anxious, and I imagine he experienced some anxiety while I was gone especially during periods when he was alone. So, I’m quite pleased with the durability. This will definitely stay in the meal service rotation and I will replace it if necessary. One thing to note: the fill hole is pretty small. His kibble is small enough that one might think it would easily pour right in, but no. At some point I’ll get annoyed enough to pull out my drill and make that hole larger.

Durable and fun
My puppy, 10 months and 52 pounds is an avid chewer on bones and toys. This has lasted her months and no sign of damage. It’s a keeper!
