Big Moss "Long Putt 30 Ft" Putting Green

The Big Moss Long Putt is a 6' x 30' indoor putting green built specifically to practice the 25-to-40-foot lag putts that decide most three-putt situations — the same surface used at PGA Show long-putt contests, tour player practice rooms, and large basement installs worldwide. At three times the length of a standard home putting green, it's the only realistic way to train true distance control without driving to the course.

Most golfers grove in their 6-foot stroke and then bleed strokes from 30 feet because they have nowhere to practice it. The Long Putt fixes that — premium industrial-grade surface, regulation cups, and a wrinkle-free rubber back that won't develop grooves or wear paths even under tournament traffic. Also available in a 60-foot competition length.

Why The Long Putt Solves The 3-Putt Problem

  • 30 feet of true roll — practice 20, 25, 30-foot lag putts that no standard home green can fit
  • Industry-leading long-putt surface — used in PGA Show contests and tour practice rooms
  • Tournament-grade industrial materials — withstands heavy foot traffic with no groove development
  • Wrinkle-free rubber backing — lays dead flat over carpet, concrete, or hardwood across the full 30 feet
  • High-density removable foundation — gives a true flat read for dead-straight distance calibration
  • Break Pads included — drop in slope or contour anywhere along the length
  • Stadium Backstop — wraps the back end, pins with golf tees, contains overcooked putts
  • Chipping mat + flag stick — practice long pitch shots into a real flag from across the room

Who The 30-Foot Green Is Built For

This isn't a starter green. The Long Putt is for the player who's already serious about scoring and recognizes that lag putting is where strokes get lost — three-putts from 35 feet kill more rounds than missed 5-footers. It needs a long, finished space: a full-length basement, a heated garage cleared of cars, a home gym, or a dedicated indoor practice room. The 60-foot option is for clubs, fitting studios, and golfers building competition-level practice facilities. Either length lets you calibrate the exact feel between a 20-foot putt and a 35-foot putt — the gap most golfers can't train at home and the gap that costs them strokes on the course.

Long Putt 30 Ft — Common Questions

How much room do I actually need to set this up?+
Plan on at least 34 feet of clear length and 7 feet of width. The green itself is 6' x 30', and you want a few feet behind you at the putting end for stance and stroke clearance, plus a couple feet behind the backstop. Most owners install it in a full-length basement, a heated garage, or a dedicated indoor practice room. If your longest open space is under 25 feet, the Country Club or Admiral models are a better fit.
Why a 30-foot green vs a standard 10 or 15 foot home green?+
Distance control. Standard home greens train make-or-miss inside 10 feet, which is useful, but most three-putts happen from 25 to 40 feet — and you can't practice that on a 15-foot green. The Long Putt is the only realistic way to calibrate the feel difference between a 20-foot stroke and a 35-foot stroke at home, which is exactly the range most amateurs guess at and bleed strokes from.
How does the surface hold up under heavy use?+
This is the surface Big Moss uses at trade shows and PGA Show long-putt contests, where it sees thousands of putts a day from public foot traffic for a full week. Premium industrial-grade materials mean it does not develop grooves or wear paths even at that volume. A household player who puts in an hour a day will see no noticeable wear over years of practice.
Can I add break or slope to a long putt at this length?+
Yes — Break Pads slide under the green at any point along the 30 feet to create uphill, downhill, or side-slope sections. You can build a putt that breaks left to right halfway down, or starts uphill then crests and runs downhill, which is closer to how real green contours actually play. Move the pads between sessions so you never read the same putt twice.
How do I clean and maintain a green this large?+
Standard vacuum cleaner — same as any Big Moss green. The industrial surface does not absorb dust the way carpet does and resists grooving from repeated putt paths. Roll it up between sessions if needed, or leave it deployed — the rubber backing will not damage carpet, hardwood, or concrete underneath.
30-foot vs 60-foot — which length should I get?+
30-foot fits most serious home installs — full-length basement, large garage, dedicated practice room — and covers the lag-putt range that matters for scoring. The 60-foot is built for clubs, fitting studios, golf academies, long-putt event hosts, and golfers building competition-level facilities. Both use the same tournament-grade surface; the choice is purely about how much length your space can hold.

Great confidence booster for dad - techniques can be successfully implemented immediately after birth!
Format: Paperback
This is an excellent book! My husband read this book before our baby was born. Although I found a synopsis to be enough for me (no need to read a whole book for five main techniques), as an engineer, he really liked understanding all of the "whys" behind the methods, and understanding the reasoning gave him more empathy for our baby. My husband started implementing the techniques in this book immediately in the hospital right after the birth, and they really worked! It was extremely helpful for his confidence as a dad and for my confidence in him / us as we started the adventure of parenting (especially when I was recovering from childbirth in those early weeks). We have continued using these techniques for months, and they make a huge difference. Sometimes babies get overly tired and don't even know why they are crying anymore, and these techniques help to soothe quickly to get down for a nap. Truly, I do not know where we would be without a good swaddle and turning our baby on his side while swaddled, because he can be losing it completely and then the swaddle / gentle bounce calms him down very quickly. The one thing I wish the book did mention but does not is that it IS possible for a swaddle to be too tight on the legs - the latest research shows that babies need room to bend and straighten their legs for safe growth of their hips, so it's ok to do a fairly tight swaddle such that their arms cannot escape, but there does need to be slack at the feet.

SAVED MY SANITY!!!
Format: Paperback
I don't know why I didn't leave a review on this book as soon as I finished reading it! My daughter was quiet for the first week home from the hospital, but along came week two and around 8 pm one night she began to cry, and this time it was different, we literally could not get her to stop. She cried until around 4 am, and I was terrified that we had a year of colic crying ahead of us, but prayed it was just a fluke and that the next night things would be different. However, 8 pm rolled around, the crying began, and we had a repeat of a night full of inconsolable crying. I had never felt such all encompassing exhaustion in my entire life and I just prayed that there was a book that would have answers for me. So the next morning I took to Amazon and began my search. After reading reviews I decided to give this book a try - the length was perfect, thank you Harvey for getting straight to the point and telling us exactly what we needed to know! I was able to implement the S's the following evening at 8 pm when the crying began and I believed with every fiber of my being that it was going to work - AND IT DID!!! Simulating the womb experience was exactly what my daughter needed to soothe her overstimulated little newborn nervous system and she calmed down in less than a minute and fell into a blissful sleep that lasted until her next feeding, after which we repeated the process and she was asleep again. She was sleeping through the night after a couple of months, and we continued to use Harvey's method until eventually she didn't seem to need it anymore. This book was a lifesaver, I have given it as a gift at every baby shower I've attended since I first discovered it, and I'll continue to give it as long as I live!! This book could just as easily be called Happiest Parents on the Block - I am so very grateful that I found it when I did!
