Meet the Middle Atlantic APV6 6U Vented Access Panel—the smart solution for rapid access to rear rack interiors in standard 19-inch enclosures. Built to blend rugged durability with sleek, professional styling, this vented panel provides quick passage to connector panels while preserving airflow and rack symmetry. Crafted from easily machinable.090" black powder-coated aluminum, the APV6 stands up to the demands of installation environments, from AV racks to IT closets, delivering reliable service without sacrificing aesthetics. Captive thumbscrews ensure tool-free installation and maintenance, so you can access cables and backplane connections fast, without the hassle of loose hardware or lost screws.

  • Fast, tool-free access with captive thumbscrews: The APV6 is designed for quick service. Captive thumbscrews stay attached to the panel, so you can remove and reattach the vented access panel in moments without hunting for screws or carrying a screwdriver. This feature reduces downtime during equipment swaps, cable rearrangements, and routine maintenance, making it ideal for high-traffic rack environments where uptime matters.
  • Ventilated design for superior airflow: The perforated, vented pattern promotes efficient airflow through the panel, helping to dissipate heat from rear-mounted connectors, backplanes, and cabling. By maintaining steady cooling, the APV6 contributes to longer component life and steadier performance in environments where heat is a common concern—such as media centers, production rooms, and network closets.
  • Rugged, lightweight construction: Manufactured from.090" aluminum with a durable black powder coat, the APV6 delivers a solid balance of strength and lightness. The material choice provides corrosion resistance, scratch resistance, and machinability for any on-site customization. The black finish complements most rack systems, delivering a professional, low-profile appearance that blends with existing equipment and décor.
  • 6U height for standard 19" racks: The 6U tall panel is designed to fit standard 19" racks, offering ample opening height for rear access while preserving rooftop airflow pathways and front-edge alignment. This makes it an easy swap-in replacement or add-on for existing racks, ensuring a consistent, clean look across your installation.
  • Ideal for AV, IT, and network installations: Whether you’re servicing audio/video gear, servers, switches, or other rear-facing components, the APV6 delivers dependable access without compromising the integrity of the rack. It’s a practical choice for installers who value quick access, clean cable management, and reliable airflow, all in a compact, purpose-built vented panel.

How to Install Middle Atlantic APV6 6U Vented Access Panel

  • Power down and unplug equipment as needed, then clear the rack cavity behind the panel mounting area.

  • Slide the panel into place so that mounting holes line up with the rack’s chassis holes or rails.
  • Hand-tighten the captive thumbscrews to secure the panel. Do not overtighten to avoid distorting the panel or rack rails.

Very short and very good
Format: eTextbook
I read this book or one similar to it my senior year in high school 1970. It absolutely caught my attention as a way to explain why the continents had separated from Gondwanaland. I really liked revisiting the theory in light of the advances made since then

I love VSI on Kindle
Format: eTextbook
The thing is they take a long time to read because of the look up feature. It's like reading a book in the Library of Congress.

There are few who are capable of telling the story of plate techtonics including critical details. Peter Molnar is one of those chosen few who can deliver such a story succinctly and precisely.

Very nice, but very short, book on the subject.
Format: Paperback
This is a very nice, but very short, book on the subject. I learned quite a bit and enough to delve into structural geology and related subjects.

Excellent 120 pages book on a complex subject.
Format: Paperback
I thought this was an excellent 120 pages book on a complex subject. It discusses a variety of subjects besides the title of plate tectonics and which are related to it: continental drift, oceanic seafloor spreading, fracture zones, subduction of tectonic plate edges, faulting, the creation of mountains and plateaus, earthquakes, volcanism, oceanic magnetic anomalies, and the locations of concentrated metallic ores. The text is accompanied by almost 40 sketches and diagrams elaborating on the discussions provided in the text. The book also introduces the grand concepts of Earth geology such as the mantle, lithosphere, and asthenosphere. It also provides a short history of the development of the concept of plate tectonics. Finally, the book provides specific detailed descriptions of the formation of major mountain ranges and plateaus such as the Himalayas, the Tibetan Plateau, Tien Shan, the Tarim Basin, the movement of Eastern Asia, the Andes, and the western US mountain ranges. It also gives a short description of the movement of India from the eastern edge of the African Plate to the Eurasian Plate over the past 90+ million years.
