Designed for electric guitar and electric bass players, the One Series Lunar Phaser from Source Audio is a pedal which sports three onboard styles of stereo phase modulation, and can also function in mono setups. The pedal provides control over depth, speed, and resonance parameters, as well as a knob dictating the shape of the LFO (Sine, Square, etc.).
A three-position toggle switch offers different modes. Vibe is modeled on the Shin-Ei Univibe, giving you two frequency notches spaced farther away from each other than you’d see in a more modern phaser. Classic, on the other hand, is modeled on concepts found in the venerated Phase 90 pedal, giving you four stages of phase shifters, and generating what has become the traditional phase tone heard in funk and rock. Multi gives you an eight-stage filter for a more animated sound.
These are just the effects provided straight out of the box. Play around with the included Neuro Mobile App for iOS and Android, and you’ll be able to edit a whole host of parameters. Extensive parameter editing enables you to customize your own signature tones, and what's more, save them to different positions of the toggle switch. You can also load in tonal presets from the Mercury Flanger and Gemini Chorus pedals; if you wanted to, you could run a phaser, a chorus, and a flanger from different positions of the toggle switch—effectively giving you three pedals in one stompbox enclosure. With connections for MIDI control, expression control, and Hot Hand control (in which you use a proprietary ring-like device to modulate effect parameters straight from your picking hand), you can achieve even more real-time manipulation of phasing effects.
