Mini Garden Kit-Soil Base

Your students will perform experiments under controlled conditions and observe seed germination and the effects of varying environmental conditions upon plant growth. They will perform the experiments, observe the results, record data and reach conclusions based on their data. Students will learn to identify the important parts common to all seeds, describe the sequence of events in seed germination, compare the growth of plants with and without light, identify seed leaves and true leaves and much more. Since the development of a technical vocabulary is an important part of all science studies, basic terminology for plant and seed structure are introduced whenever appropriate. The difference between the soil base kit and the hydroponic kit is that the soil base kit compares the growth of plants with and without essential minerals; whereas the hydroponic kit allows you to observe and describe the growth of plants in a water environment utilizing daily liquid fertilizer supplements. The soil base kit includes: foam tray, germination chambers with foam pad, instruction guide, labels, light proof box, magnifying glass, measuring spoon, lima bean seeds, squash seeds, sunflower seeds, corn seeds, marigold seeds, ruler, and soil mix.
